Dear Families,

Tomorrow is the big day…the 2022 Wessagusset Fun Run! We’re looking forward to a fun and memorable event. (Fortunately I survived my celebratory scooter ride on Friday and will be able to participate in the Fun Run😂.) Please review final important details about the Fun Run here: Fun Run Info.

We had a fantastic time at our PBIS Assembly on Friday, reviewing our school-wide behavior expectations and talking about next month’s theme of being “Bucketfillers”. As your child to tell you what it means to be a Bucketfiller at home and school!

Congratulations to our October PBIS winners. We are proud of all of our students’ positive behavior!

Here is the schedule for the Fun Run tomorrow. You are welcome to join us outside to cheer for your child!

Grade 2 - 9:15-9:45
Kindergarten - 9:50-10:20
Grade 1 - 10:25-10:55
Grade 4 - 11:00-11:30
Grade 5 - 12:05-12:35
Grade 3 - 12:45-1:15

Unfortunately we will not be able to have families join us if we have to move the Fun Run inside due to weather. I will let you know as soon as possible if there are changes based on rain. Students are welcome to wear costumes if they would like; just a friendly reminder that masks and props should remain at home.

Please be aware of this important arrival/dismissal information: For safety reasons, students arriving before 8:50 am need to be accompanied by an adult, as we do not have staff outside to supervise students until 8:50. Please remember that all students need to be picked-up promptly at 3:15 pm. We appreciate your cooperation.

Teachers will be sending home Parent Conference sign-up information on November 1st. In-person conferences will take place on Tuesday evening (11/15), and virtual conferences will take place on Wednesday afternoon (11/16).

Let's celebrate with SEPAC as the Fore River Bridge is lit up yellow! Please join us Tuesday November 1st at 5pm at Lovells Grove Park to see the bridge light up and show support for SEPAC leaders and families. Information can be found here: SEPAC Light It Up Yellow

Picture retakes will take place on Friday, November 4th.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has contracted with the American Institutes for Research (AIR) to conduct a district review of Weymouth Public Schools. The purpose of the district review is to provide formative and actionable feedback on district practices, enabling district leaders to reflect on progress and strengthen staff and student performance. As part of this review, AIR will be conducting a virtual family focus group on Tuesday, 11/1/2022, from 6:00-7:00pm EST to gather perspectives on communication with families, opportunities for family involvement and leadership, opportunities for students within the district, and more. If you are interested in joining, please register ahead of time at this LINK.
