As we approach the mid-August date, I am quite certain more back-to-school thoughts and conversations have begun in many of your homes. Indeed, we have been busy at the Brown School all summer getting ready for the upcoming year. Materials and supplies, as well as new students are arriving every week.

Read on to find our more about updating your Aspen and placement, PK and K Orientation Dates, school supply needs, Grade 1-3 Meet and Greet time followed by Popsicles with the Principals, and upcoming dates to put on your calendars.

The first Summer Edition of the Brown Buzz included information for updating Aspen and so many of you have followed through! Thank you so much!! Please be sure to update asap to ensure addresses, phone #s, emergency contacts, and placement information are all accessible for you and for us by August 20th.

Kindergarten Orientation is on Friday, August 28th from 1:00-2:00 PM and the first day of school for Kindergarten is August 31st. Kindergarten families should have received the Kindergarten Orientation details via USPS mail this week. A follow up email was also sent today. Please reach out to barrera.katelyn@marbleheadschools.org if you have not received this information.

We welcome all PK families to come meet the teacher and explore the classroom from 9:00-10:00 on Monday, August 31st. The first full day for K-3 can create an excessively busy, and sometimes a bit chaotic environment in our parking lots and hallways. For this reason, we think it best for PK families to arrive once the traffic has dissipated and things have quieted down for our youngest learners to be introduced to the classroom for just one hour.

Please join us on Monday, August 31 for a meet and greet, share your arrival and dismissal plans, and explore the classroom with your child from 9:00-10:00. The first full day for PK will be on Tuesday, Sept. 1st with drop off beginning at 8:05.

The first PTO sponsored event will be a Welcome Back Popsicles with the Principals on our playground! Our PTO does so much for our students, staff and community. Join us for an opportunity to meet the teacher, taking a quick peek at the classroom and drop off any school supplies on FRIDAY, AUGUST 28th FROM 1:45-2:15. This is a great way to get kids excited and calm any nervousness they may have about coming back to school, and we'd love to see you!

(Kindergarteners are welcome to join us on the playground for Popsicles with the Principals after their Orientation as well!)

The Main Doors open at 7:50 for K-3 students interested in having breakfast.
