SAT School Day for Juniors

Watertown High School is hoping to host an SAT School Day for juniors in late March. Any junior who would like to take the SATs at WHS (a familiar testing environment) will need to register for the test through the WHS Guidance department, NOT the CollegeBoard website. Sign-up details will be shared separately with all juniors and families soon. This would be the only opportunity juniors would have to take the SATs at WHS this year. Please contact your school counselor with questions.

MCAS Reminders

Students and families are reminded that all 9th and 10th graders will participate in MCAS testing this year.

All 10th graders will take the ELA MCAS in March (March 26 and 27) and the Math MCAS in May (May 21 and 22). All 9th graders will take the Science MCAS in June (June 4 and 5). Students must use their Chromebooks for these tests, so we encourage all students to report any issues with their Chromebooks early (missing keys, missing updates, poor connection to the wifi, etc.). More details about each administration will be shared as the date gets closer.

2nd Semester Add/Drop Period

The Add/Drop period for 2nd semester classes is January 25-31. During the Add/Drop Period, changes to student schedules will be made under the following conditions:

1. Student meets with their school counselor.

2. Student receives written permission from the teacher, the curriculum coordinator, and the parent/guardian. Students should obtain the appropriate form in Guidance.

3. The courses being exchanged occur during the same scheduled block during the day.

4. The courses being exchanged will not be over/under-enrolled due to the student's departure or arrival in the course.

Scholarships and Special Opportunities

Scholarships and Special Opportunities

The Guidance Department receives information about scholarships and special opportunities throughout the year. Information about previous and current scholarships and programs can be found on our Special Opportunities and Scholarships Hub. Please see a member of the Guidance department for additional details. Additionally, all seniors will receive the annual Watertown Scholarship Booklet in mid-March.
