Meadowood Retirees Meadowood Retirees

As the school year comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate our retirees. These remarkable team members have dedicated their time, talents, and hearts to our school community, playing a vital role in shaping the spirit and success of our organization.

Thank you, retirees, for everything. Here's to your next chapter!

For 31 years, Nurse Kathie Vachris, has served our students, staff, and families with kindness, patience and care. From comforting the sick to calming anxious hearts, she has been a true source of support and compassion every day. Thank you for all the years you’ve dedicated to keeping our school healthy! You will be deeply missed, but we hope your next chapter is filled with happiness and well-deserved relaxation.

Carol Percy has been one of our most dedicated and caring Paraprofessionals over the last 23 years. Having worked in a variety of buildings, including Dickinson, MTP and McKean, she has been a true advocate for our students. Carol's ability to connect with students and help them thrive has left a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come. We wish you all the best in your retirement!

After 21 years of dedicated service, we bid a heartfelt farewell to our Chief Custodian, Yvette Young, who is retiring this year. Yvette has been the force behind the scenes, ensuring that our school remained clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walked through its doors. We wish you a well-earned retirement filled with rest, happiness, and everything you enjoy most!

After 13 years of keeping our systems running, printers connected, and electronics updated, we are sad to say farewell to our IT Specialist, Edward Shaw. Ed has been a go-to resource and a vital part of our team; saving the day more times than we can count. Earlier this year, Ed was named 2024-2025 District Technology Professional of the Year. We wish you all the best as you unplug and enjoy this next exciting chapter!

Meadowood Mile 👟 Meadowood Mile 👟

The Meadowood Wellness Champions and MTSS team have been working hard to organize the 3rd Annual Meadowood Mile Health Fair and PBIS Celebration. The event will combine health education with celebrations to honor our students' positive behavior and promote healthy lifestyles. Staff and students plan to walk a mile around the track and stop at various health stations set up around the track that focus on healthy eating, movement, mental wellness, hydration and more! PBiS celebrations included sensory bin stations, a tattoo station, photo station, and a dance party.

Unfortunately, due to inclement weather predicted for Friday, May 30th, the Meadowood Mile is rescheduled to Monday, June 2nd. Students should dress for the outdoor activity, wear sneakers and apply sunscreen prior to coming to school. Check out Meadowood's Facebook page for pictures of the event.
