What's Happening in our Groups!
5th Grade
Our 5th grade groups have been working on creating a Geometrocity! Classes created a city with various geometry skills. Each group chose their city section, they had to include 4 specific geometry elements and 3 buildings, then they used nets to physically build the buildings. They are also working to determine how to set up the city and where they want sections to go. We will finish this unit after break.
4th Grade
4th Grade Math and Science students have been creating a tiny house- they have to create a house with specific features, calculate the area and perimeter of 6 of those features and then physically build the house. They have had a lot of fun!
4th Grade Language Arts and Social Studies students are working on thinking like lawyers and creating a mock trial on the McDonald's Hot Coffee case from 1998- Will they judge the same as real life?
2nd and 3rd Grade
2nd and 3rd grade groups have been learning about the 4 critical thinking skills- Convergent (logical) Thinking, Divergent (creative) Thinking, Visual Thinking, and Evaluative Thinking. We will use these thinking skills throughout the year.
1st Grade
First grade groups will start after break 🙂
NTI Information
On NTI Days all students EXCEPT First Grade will have OPTIONAL assignments posted to their Google classrooms. These activities are usually fun but again they are optional. I will be available daily through email and will be available on a live Google meet from 10:00-12:00 if students need help.
