Have a FLAMAZING Summer!
Just one last quick email with a few summer events and to wish everyone a wonderful summer! Thank you to the entire Peirce community for such a terrific 2023-2024 school year. We hope our teachers have the relaxing summer they deserve, and that everyone has a summer full of relaxation, adventure, and sun.
5th Grade Clap Out, 11:30 AM dismissal, & Informal Meet Up at the Res
11:15 AM - Grab the tissues and join us for the 5th Grade Clap Out!
This is a long-standing tradition where 5th graders parade through the hallways and out the doors as they leave Peirce School as students for the very last time. Students, teachers, and families line the hallways and their path out the door, clapping and cheering as they go.
5th Grade Families: please gather in the foyer (outside the gym).
Families of lower grades, friends and neighbors: please gather on the blacktop to cheer and clap as 5th graders walk down the steps outside!
Please help us make this moment extra special for this wonderful group of students as they start their next chapter.
Cow bells and noise makers encouraged!
TODAY - Informal Meetup at Arlington Reservoir Beach
After the last day of school, many Peirce families head to the Arlington Reservor to swim and enjoy the afternoon on the beach if the weather allows.
There is no formal event or meetup, but we wanted to get the word out that this is a fun way to spend the last day of school, and you'll likely find friends to swim and play with there!
Admission to the Reservoir Beach is $10 per adult and $5 per kid (cash only) or you can purchase a season pass here.
We still need PTO Volunteers for next year!
- School Supplies - The Peirce PTO funds school supplies for all Peirce students. We still need a few volunteers to sort supplies and deliver them to the classrooms. Interested? Email Kelly Kemp at kkemp@peircepto.org
- Picture Day Coordinator - Assist current picture day coordinator in planning this year's picture day, with intention to take on the role next year. Duties include working with photography company and school administration to plan and organize picture day and retake day. Interested? Email Sarah Barton at camslamm@gmail.com.
We are also already thinking about next year's event calendar. Below are a few events we have done in the past that need new volunteers if we would like to continue them. Do you have other ideas you are more excited about? We would love to hear about them! PTO community events are only as strong as our volunteers and their enthusiasm!
- Welcome Back to School Picnic - If you enjoyed the end of year picnic, this is the event for you! This is the first community event of our school year. In the past it has been held sometime during the first two or three weeks of school, either at Peirce or at the Reservoir Beach. Details for Fall 2024 will be up to whoever decides to coordinate the event!
- Fall Festival - The Fall Festival is usually held in October. Past events have included arts & crafts, fall themed activities and games, cider donuts and popcorn. If we would like this event to continue we need a committee to take over.
Interested? Email peirceschool.pto@gmail.com
Thanks so much to everyone who has stepped up to volunteer this year!
