Grading Policy
Dear Families,
Over the past several months, a group of teachers and administrators from all four of our high school buildings have worked together to develop a consistent grading policy for our students. Our goal is to provide greater clarity and fairness for students and families by ensuring that grading practices are aligned across our schools.
We believe these updates will provide a clearer, more accurate picture of student learning and help support every student’s academic success. Thank you for your partnership as we implement this consistent approach across all of our high schools.
Please refer to the document for further details on this policy and if you have any questions, please contact a Wayne Memorial building administrator.
New Absence Excusal Policy
Moving forward excused absences should be routed through the office attendance line and/or Parent Connect Portal.
If you would like to leave a message for your students absence the Attendance line number is
734-419-2207. *Please state your students full name as we have it in the system, the day you are excusing them for and if not a full day how many hours.
If you are calling your scholar out for the day and this was not something pre-planned or known ahead of time you may still call the office at 734-419-2200 and we can call your student out for the day.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to make this process seamless for all.

WMHS Athletics
Athletic Director / Assistant Principal, Mr. Mark Woodson
Assistant Athletic Director, Mr. David Daigneau
Attention WMHS Student Athletes! If you plan on participating in ANY sport during the next school year at Wayne Memorial, schedule your sports physicals now at the Corewell Clinic at Adams Middle school. It is especially important to get scheduled now for the Fall Sports (including Football, Cheer, Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Boys Soccer, Girls Swimming and Girls Golf) so you are able to condition with the team this summer and be ready for the start of the season on August 10th. Beat the rush and get scheduled. Even though we are open all summer, we do run out of appointments. Physical forms are available in the Wayne Memorial Athletic Office.
- The Corewell Clinic accepts and bills all insurances. You are never billed for any copays, deductibles or if you have no insurance. We don't turn anyone away for the inability to pay. The Clinic staff can also help families apply for medicaid. Our clinic keeps a copy of the completed physical on file, so there is nothing to worry about if it is lost over the summer.
- Please call the Corewell Clinic at Adams to schedule your appointment or if you have any questions, 734-728-2423. Thank you!
Please note that anybody 18 and under must have a Wayne Memorial HS ID to enter our home sporting events, unless accompanied by a parent. We also don't allow backpacks, outside drinks, coolers, or ski masks. Once anyone leaves the event there is no re-entry. Students are expected to be picked up immediately following the game.
- No Backpacks or School Bags allowed at home events.
- All Elementary and Middle School Students must be accompanied by an adult at all sporting events.
- Students must show ID at gate when redeeming ticket.
- No Re-Entry
Come out and support our teams!
Go to https://waynememorialathletics.org/main/calendar for updated schedule of events. Please use this link for our most up-to-date upcoming games this week.
Student passes are available through Go Fan. You must have your student ID to purchase, Students will still need to show ID at the gate when redeeming tickets. The link is below. https://gofan.co/app/school/MI10119

Student Parking
Are you driving to school? If so, you need to purchase a parking pass from the counseling center. The parking pass costs $25. After you purchase the pass, it needs to be displayed in your car, so that we can see the pass when we do parking lot checks.
The main parking lot for students is by the soccer field. The overflow parking for students is all the way in the back, closest to the softball field - you should use the baseball / softball entrance into the parking lot. It is labeled with a sign.
If we see student cars in either of the lots, with no parking pass, we will put an 'unauthorized sticker' on the car window.
FYI - no students should be parking in the main entrance lot and/or closest to the building around WMHS, as those spots are designated for staff parking.
Thank you for your cooperation with this.
