Reminders Reminders

Buses

Students must ride the busses that are assigned to them according to where they live. Students will not be allowed onto a bus if it is not their assigned pickup location or their assigned bus. In the afternoon, students MUST board the busses at BHS. If a student goes to WMS to get on the bus, they WILL NOT be allowed onto the bus.

Doctor Notes

If your student is absent from school, a doctor's note that states, "the parent contacted our office to inform us their child was ill and did not attend school" is not accepted as an excused absences. These notes, however, will be considered when coding your student as "not truant". If a note has more information such as "based on the symptoms the child is presenting, our office has determined that it can be managed at home and should return to school on______", then the note will be reviewed and most likely be accepted as excused. Any further questions regarding doctor notes should be asked of the nurses' office, kpepin@webster-schools.org.

Student Food Delivery

This is not allowed under any circumstance. If you have forgotten your lunch, a family member can always bring your lunch to the main office. They must come into the office and bring it to Ms. Donnelly who will hold it until your lunch period. Door Dash and other delivery services will not be allowed into the building moving forward. This is explained in detail in our handbook.

Cell Phones

The use is not allowed in our classrooms from the beginning of the class until the end of the class. There are no exceptions to this. Please look in our handbook for the specific details. Reminder that if you put your phone in the door holder for the class period you will receive Bartlett Bucks each time!

Tardy to School

Our school day begins at 7:30am. This is the time that you need to be in your first period class. Saturday schools will be utilized for continued tardiness to school in the 4th quarter, for every 5 tardies to school, students will receive 1 Saturday School. If you are a sports player or take part in an after school activity, you MUST be here by 8am in order to participate.

Grading Policy

Loss of Points/Credit due to absences -

5-9 unexcused absences from a class will lose 10 points from their grade in that class for that quarter.

Grade/Credit Recovery Process:

Process 1 - Students can recover those lost points in the following quarter, if and only if, they have no more than 2 unexcused absences from that class during that quarter.

Process 2 (if last quarter of the course) - Students can work to recover lost points as soon as they reach their 5th unexcused absence by attending a 3 hour Saturday School session (up to 3 missed classes per session). Students may attend multiple sessions to recover for multiple courses if needed.

10 or more unexcused absences from a class will result in an automatic attendance failure for the quarter and receive a grade of a 40 (District Minimum Grade).

Grade/Credit Recovery Process:

Students may earn credit back by attending a 3 hour Saturday School session (up to 3 missed classes per session). Students may attend multiple sessions to recover for multiple courses if needed. They must attend enough Saturday School sessions to bring absences below 10 at which point the 10 point deduction will be enforced as noted above.

Attendance Policy

A public school district may excuse up to 7-day sessions or 14-half day sessions in any period of six months.

Based on this law, students may be approved for up to 7 excused absences in a 6 month period. Excused absences are defined as follows: Illness with medical documentation, A medical appointment that must be made during the school day, Observing a recognized religious holiday when the observance is during school, A family emergency, A planned absence for a personal or educational purpose that has been approved by the school, Educational disruption caused by a student's homelessness, unplanned hospitalization, or placement in foster care or a youth development center, Dismissal by the school nurse for illness.

**Note: Vacations will not be considered excused and should be avoided during days school is in session.

Fall 2025 Sports Sign Ups

Interested in playing a sport this fall? Make sure to sign up early so you don't miss out! Be on the lookout for the 2025 sports sign-ups questionnaire for the upcoming Fall season. Students interested in participating should check their school email accounts for an important questionnaire from Athletic Director Paranto, which includes details about the sports you are interested in. Also, it is important to ensure all physicals are up to date before the start of the season, as this is a requirement for participation in any school sports program.

A Poem Written by a Senior Student

Transformation

Turning points in life, where the change begins.

Rebirthing hope and shedding old skins.

Awakening dreams that once laid asleep.

Navigating new paths both winding and steep.

Seeking new opportunities, embracing the light.

Finding the strength to shine bright.

Opening gates to new possibilities that are vast.

Reflecting on lessons learned from the past.

Molding our futures with courage and grace.

Accepting the journey, with each step we embrace.

Transforming ourselves, like when a butterfly grows wings.

Identifying who you are, regardless of what life brings.

Overcoming fears, we take bold strides ahead.

Nurturing growth, as new chapters are read.

Math Department Math Department

Attention Current Algebra 2 students

You have signed up for Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry as your math class next year. When you were doing course selection, we had not yet completed the process of getting a new course, Introduction to Statistics, approved. Here is some information about both courses to allow you to make an informed decision.

Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry is a continuation of what you have learned in your Algebra and Geometry courses. It is helpful for students planning to go to college and potentially study engineering, physics, or computer science.

Introduction to Statistics is a course where we collect, analyze, and interpret data to answer real-world questions. It is helpful for students planning to go to college and potentially study psychology, public health, business, criminal justice, or economics.

If you have any questions about Advanced Algebra / Trigonometry, please see Mrs. Colello in Mod 10 or Mr. Paradise in Mod 8. If you have any questions about Introduction to Statistics, please see Mr.. Paradise in Mod 8. You can also talk to your guidance counselors with any course selection questions.

Academic Points/Credit Recovery Due to Attendance

Students and families have received both letters and emails regarding quarter 3 attendance point deductions. Please encourage your student to attend the last Saturday session to earn their points back. One Saturday session can replace up to 3 absences!

In quarter 4, students and families have and will continue to receive notices of attendance point deductions throughout the quarter as they occur. There will be no time to make up the lost points once the 4th quarter ends, so please make sure to encourage your student to attend Saturday school sessions immediately after getting the notice before it is too late.
