October Weekly Update ~ October 31, 2025
A note from Mr. Lee
This weekend we “fall back” and gain an extra hour of sleep as daylight saving time comes to an end. It’s a simple reminder that sometimes slowing down or stepping back can be a good thing, not just with our clocks but with our mindset too.
Today at Carter we held our Pep Assembly, and for a little while our students truly fell back to just being kids. No social media drama, no attitudes, no stress, just laughter, costumes, school spirit, and pure middle school fun. It was refreshing to see students cheering, smiling, and enjoying the moment without worrying about who was watching or what might get posted online.
As we head into the weekend, I hope all of our students carry that same energy forward. Go out, trick-or-treat, laugh with friends, and make memories. Middle school is a unique and special time, a chance to learn, grow, and still embrace the simple joy of being a kid.
So as the clocks fall back this weekend, maybe we all can too, back to what really matters.
Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda
Our first quarter is officially in the books and students are enjoying a fresh start in all their classes. As October comes to a close and we enter November, I'd like to review my October tip of the month and introduce November's tip. October's tip was to check your child's grades and attendance at least once a week on PowerSchool. November's tip is to know your child's friends' and teachers' names. Even if you can't remember all of them, having the conversation with your child demonstrates interest and concern and fosters an environment where communication is commonplace.
