PTO Meeting & General Reminders!
﹎
* Join Us for the Next PTO Meeting! *
Our next PTO meeting is this Monday, November 2, at 6:00 PM. We are actively looking to grow our PTO community, so whether you've attended before or have never been to a meeting, we would love to see you there! We offer free childcare during the meeting, as well as a virtual option if you prefer to join from home. Come connect with us and see how you can help support our school!
﹎
* Morning Arrival & Supervision *
Please remember that students are not supervised before school. We have noticed many students being dropped off early, but school doors do not open for students to enter the building until 8:40 AM
﹎
* Winter Weather Gear *
It might not feel like it quite yet, but cold weather is right around the corner! Please make sure your child is prepared for outdoor play each day with appropriate winter gear, including:
☐ Winter coat
☐ Snow pants
☐ Gloves or mittens
☐ Warm hat
☐ Waterproof boots
Students head outside for recess every day unless the temperature (or windchill) drops below zero, so having warm layers ready will help ensure everyone has a fun and comfortable time outside!
🏫 Keeping up with Mrs. Irizarry
Small Absences…and BIG Ones Add Up
Even short absences—an appointment here, a sick day there—add up quickly. If your child feels well enough to be here, we want them here! Together, we can prevent small absences from becoming big gaps in learning.
We know the holiday season will soon begin for many families and that our Woodside community deeply values time spent with loved ones. Still, our teachers teach academic content right up until our breaks, and students miss a lot of learning when they extend vacations longer than our school calendar has planned. If you are planning on having your child miss school at all this holiday season, we encourage you to make a plan for attendance for the remainder of the year.
Consider:
• How many days has your child been present at school?
• How many days has your child been absent from school?
• Satisfactory attendance = 10 days or less across the entire school year!
Thank you, families, for your support!

🩳 Clothing Donations
Our school’s supply of small bottoms (pants/shorts) and NEW, unopened underwear in sizes 5–9 is currently completely empty. These items are so important for students who may have a bathroom accident or need a change of clothes during the school day.
If you have any new or gently usable bottoms or new, unopened underwear (sizes 5–9) that you’d be willing to donate, we would be incredibly grateful! Have pants your kids have outgrown? We will gladly take it!
Families with students in Kindergarten–3rd grade: We also encourage you to pack an extra outfit (or two!) in your child’s backpack, just in case they need a change of clothes during the school day.
Thank you for helping us take care of our Woodside students!
