Mindful Classrooms
How will/do you practice, model, teach self-regulation skills in your classroom?
One way to promote self-regulation is through goal setting. An example could read something like this: "When I am angry, I will take deep breaths in the peace corner to calm down."

Peace Corners
What is a Peace Corner?
A peace corner is a designated space in the classroom that serves as a place for students to self-regulate when they are experiencing uncomfortable or heavy emotions. It is a nurturing space that feels safe. It humanizes students by promoting and providing time and space that will help them get back to a space where they’re ready to learn, work with peers, and be kind to themselves.
Does your classroom have a Peace Corner?
Below you will find a resource to pull from when creating your classroom peace corner. Feel free to use all, some, or none of these tools.
