HAPPY SUMMER!!!
Message from Mrs. Savage & Mr. Haman
Families,
As we begin wrapping up the school year, we just want to say—what an amazing year it has been at Plain City Elementary! From the very first day to now, your students have brought so much joy, energy, and growth to our school, and we are incredibly proud of everything they’ve accomplished.
This past month was a perfect snapshot of the fun and celebration that filled our year. From field trips to field day today, we have had so many FUN experiences allowing students and families to create lasting memories!
Next week is our final week together, and it’s brings even more opportunities! We’ll cheer on our performers during the 4th grade Talent Show (for students only!), enjoy the final Golden Ticket Dance, and give a heartfelt send-off to our 4th grade students during the traditional clap-out as they head to Canaan Middle School.
A few important reminders as we wrap up:
- Please return any remaining library books as soon as possible as they should have already been turned in!
- Final report cards will be sent home with students on the last day of school.
- Don’t forget to have your student check the Lost and Found tables for any missing items—anything left on the last day of school will be donated.
REMINDER: NO SCHOOL MONDAY MAY 25th, Memorial Day
Thank you for your partnership, support, and trust throughout the year. It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for ours. We wish each of you a safe, relaxing, and joyful summer.
Respectfully,
Kathy Savage, Principal & Adam Haman, Assistant Principal

THANK YOU MR. DAWSON!!!
Tim Dawson provided an AMAZING lunch for our staff today for field day! We celebrated together with hotdogs, hamburgers, sides, and drinks. Thank you to our custodians and Mr. Haman for being the grill masters!!!
A Tribute to Mrs. Thompson
The May 11th Village Council meeting was a powerful reminder of what makes Plain City such a special community! We had the privilege of honoring an individual whose dedication, service, and commitment reflect the very best of who we are.
They were especially proud to recognize Linda Thompson for her extraordinary 35-year career with the Jonathan Alder Local School District. Since beginning her work at Plain City Elementary in 1991, Linda has served our students and staff with unwavering dedication—working as a Teacher’s Aide, Technology Aide, and Secretary.
Her integrity, consistency, and heart for service have left a lasting legacy in our schools. It was an honor to proclaim May 11, 2026, as a day of celebration in her honor within the Village of Plain City, Ohio.

Lunch Pin Summer Practice
Please help your student learn their student ID number over the summer so that they can easily enter it in the lunch line. Below is a picture of a similar pin pad that they punch their number on. You can find their 6 digit student ID number when you log in to Final Forms and click on their name! This is really important for the K-2 students, so that they can eventually enter their pin independently. They enter their 6 digit pin and then press enter. Thank you so much for your help with this!
