Happy Friday Mustang families! I am writing to you today to say "THANK YOU!" Thank you for making my first year as Principal at Overpark such a fun and rewarding experience. I feel I am a better educator because of my time with our mustangs. This week, I was asked to transition to become the Principal of Lewisburg Intermediate School for the 2023-2024 school year. This opportunity is bittersweet for me as I am going to significantly miss my mustang family.

I am happy to announce with this change, your new Principal for the 2023-2024 school year is no stranger to Overpark. Mrs. Helen Wright has spent many of her career years within the walls of OES. She started as a math teacher, moved on to become your Assistant Principal, and most recently has been the Principal of Greenbrook Elementary School. Mrs Wright will be returning next year as your new Overpark Principal. Please help me in welcoming her with open arms back into the Mustang family. Welcome Mrs. Helen Wright!

What an amazing week our Overpark Staff has had! Thank you to everyone for showering our Mustang staff with food and gifts all week!

All books ordered for our students through our book blast event have been delivered to our kiddos. We love seeing them get excited about reading and the books they ordered. Thank you to everyone who participated in making this such a successful event!

4th and 5th graders have an opportunity to attend a daily summer camp put on by our very own Olive Branch Police Department. Packets will be came home this week, but you can also see the pictures below for more information. Applications are due by May 15th, 2023.

• If you need to change your child's way of transportation, we must have this in writing no later than 10am the day of the transportation change. We cannot make adjustments with a phone call as we must be able to verify the person making the request. This can be done via email, written parent note, or SchoolStatus message.
• Parents are able to come eat lunch with their student. This is limited to once per semester this school year to allow all parents ample opportunity. Please notify your child's teacher at least one day prior so they can inform the office. Additionally, we have specified tables for parents to sit with their mustang.
• We are unable to accept deliveries for students, so please do not order GrubHub, Uber Eats, etc. for your child.
• We love to celebrate our little mustangs, but please remember, we cannot accept large gifts and balloons for birthdays. You are welcome to send cupcakes. You just need to prearrange it with your child's teacher.

• Kinder Cafe at 9:15am (Parents are welcome to attend)

Thursday, May 18th

• 5th Grade Parent Parade at 12:15pm (Parents are encouraged to decorate their vehicle and join our parade celebrating our 5th graders)

Friday, May 19th

• Awards Day for 1st - 3rd Grades (Parents are welcome to attend)
• 1st Grade Awards Day - 9am
• 3rd Grade Awards Day - 11am
• 2nd Grade Awards Day - 1pm

Monday, May 22nd

• Overpark Field Day!!! (Schedule to be sent home closer to date and parents may attend)

Tuesday, May 23rd

• 4th and 5th Grades Awards Day and a 60% day! (Schedule to be sent home closer to date and parents are encouraged to attend)

Wednesday, May 24th

• Students Last Day (60% day)
