What is Zest?

Zest means approaching a situation, or life in general, with excitement and energy, not approaching tasks or activities halfway or halfheartedly. People who are high in zest are excited to get up in the morning, and they live their lives like an adventure. Zest is a dynamic strength that is directly related to physical and psychological wellness. This strength has the strongest ties to overall life satisfaction and a life of engagement.

Zest influences the way you show up in the world, it can shape your focus, fuel your passion, and enhance your sense of purpose. People with high zest often look for the positive in their day-to-day experience, which can lead to greater well-being and satisfaction.

Dear Boone Meadow Families - Dear Boone Meadow Families -

As we head into the weekend, we’re excited to share a few highlights and reminders from another great week at Boone Meadow! in particular, taking note of our Bash (next Friday) and our upcoming All School Field Trip to Holliday Park!

  • Boone Meadow Bash - Next Friday! - The countdown is on—our Boone Meadow Bash (PTO) is just ONE WEEK away! Tickets are now on sale, and we’re thrilled to announce that Boomer, the mascot of the Indiana Pacers, will be performing twice during the event! It’s sure to be a high-energy, fun-filled experience for all. When purchasing tickets, please remember that admission to a BOOMER show is already included—there’s no need to purchase anything extra. Simply choose between general Bash admission or Bash admission + Boomer, and select which show you’d like to attend.
  • Holliday Park - All School Field Trip on May 20th! We also hope you had a chance to review the ParentSquare message about our upcoming all-school field trip. We are incredibly excited for our K–4 students and staff to experience Holliday Park together. This is a big undertaking, and we are so grateful for your support in making this special day possible. Be sure to check out the additional details included below.
  • ILEARN Update: Our third and fourth grade students put forth tremendous effort this week as they began their ILEARN assessments. Third grade students have mostly wrapped up, while fourth grade will continue with a few remaining assessments next week. Thank you for helping support your students with encouragement, rest, and routine during this important time.
  • School Supplies Pre-Order: Looking ahead to next year, school supply pre-orders are now available! This convenient option allows supplies to be delivered directly to school—saving you time and simplifying back-to-school prep. Please note that this is purely a service for families; neither the school nor PTO receives any profit. Additional details and the ordering link can be found below.
  • Student Council Penny Wars! Finally, a big shoutout to our students and families for their participation in this week’s Student Council “Penny War”! Together, BME students and families raised approximately $1690, with all proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Boone County. Our Student Council and Mrs. Lamaster did a fantastic job organizing this meaningful project. Thank you for supporting our students as they learn the value of giving back—while having a little fun along the way! Kona Ice was determined the winner of the battle by a landslide.
  • Family Input Survey - The survey is open until May 11th. Click here to open and to share your feedback: BME Family Input (Spring 2026) - optional – Fill out form

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. We are so fortunate to be part of such a caring and engaged school community.

Wishing you a wonderful and relaxing spring weekend!

All the best,

Team Meadow, Tom & Jarrod

Greetings, Boone Meadow Families –

Team Meadow is thrilled to share that on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, our kindergarten through fourth grade students and staff will embark on an exciting, all-school field trip to Holliday Park in Indianapolis! This special end-of-year learning celebration is designed to bring together exploration, connection, and fun in a truly memorable way.

  • Chaperones needed: To make this day a success, we are seeking 5 chaperones per classroom. All requests must be submitted through the Chaperone Request Form (linked HERE). To keep the process consistent, please do not contact teachers directly regarding chaperoning.
  • Permission forms: These will be sent via ParentSquare from your child’s homeroom teacher in the coming weeks. All permissions must be completed through ParentSquare.

We are incredibly excited to provide this unique opportunity for our students to learn, explore, and celebrate together. Thank you for your continued support in helping make experiences like this possible—we can’t wait for a fantastic day at the park!

Thank you,

Team Meadow

Lunch Guests

We are ready to welcome lunch guests! Students and their guests will have lunch at designated locations in the front lobby area. Please no more than 2 guests per student due to limited space. So that others may have the opportunity, we ask that you not sign up more than 1 time per month. As we implement this new system/procedure, we will limit availability the first two weeks to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday visits.

Here's how it works:

  • Sign up for a reservation in advance using this link: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/BMELunchSchedule@zcsk12in.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/ When you sign up, please be certain to complete all fields requested.
  • Bring a photo ID and arrive 5 minutes early (lunch times are listed on the signup form link above).
  • Your child will meet you in the front office area when they are ready.
  • HAVE FUN!

During the school day, all volunteers are expected to check in at the front office. Prior to the volunteer's first volunteer experience, the individual must sign a Non-disclosure Acknowledgement Form and have successfully completed a Full Criminal History Background Check.. Necessary background check paperwork is available on the ZCS website at the Volunteers/BRAVO link and should be submitted at least 10 days before the intended volunteer date. Volunteers must also view the state-mandated confidentiality/bullying video, provided on the Volunteer/BRAVO website. The volunteer will pay the fee for the full background check which will expire after 5 years.

During the school day, all visitors must enter via the front door and sign in at the front office. Visitors need to be prepared to present a government-issued photo ID which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. All visitors will be issued a visitor badge/tag to be worn inside the building at all times. Visitors other than parents/guardians must be prearranged and organized through the main office.
