Brief Message From the Principal
July 27, 2026
Dear WRHS Families,
Welcome back! We hope you and your family had a wonderful, relaxing summer filled with special memories. As we begin a new school year, we are excited to welcome our students back to campus and look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and success.
The start of a new school year brings fresh opportunities for students to build friendships, develop new skills, and achieve their academic goals. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare classrooms and learning experiences that will inspire and challenge every child.
First Day Reminders
Please help us ensure a smooth start by remembering to:
- Arrive on time each day - 1st period tardy bell rings at 8:10 am
- Review transportation and dismissal plans with your child - student drop-off line is located in the student parking lot. The main office drop-off line is for students with special needs.
- Complete any required school forms and emergency contact information in myStudent.
- Check student schedules, supply lists, and school communications.
- Encourage healthy routines, including adequate sleep and a nutritious breakfast.
Communication is Key
We value our partnership with families and believe that strong communication plays an important role in student success. Throughout the year, please stay connected through:
- School newsletters
- Email updates
- School website and social media platforms
- Parent-teacher conferences
- Family engagement events
Attendance Matters
Regular attendance is essential for academic achievement. Establishing consistent routines from the very beginning of the school year helps students build positive habits and maximize learning opportunities.

Schedule Change Requests
As we prepare for the start of the school year, please review the schedule change request guidelines below.
If your student needs a schedule change, please complete the Schedule Change Request Form located on our school website.
All forms must be submitted by Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
Please note that schedule changes will only be considered if a student:
- Has already completed the course
- Has not met the required prerequisites for the course
- Has a period on their schedule with no class assigned
We are unable to consider schedule change requests based on:
- Teacher preference
- Class period preference
- Requests for off-campus periods
- Lunch preferences
To ensure an efficient review process:
- Do not submit duplicate requests. Only one request per student will be processed.
- Before submitting, please verify that your request is accurate and that you are committed to the change being requested.
- Processed schedule changes will not be reversed.
Please also understand that schedule change requests are reviewed in the order they are received and are subject to course and space availability. Submitting a schedule change request does not guarantee that a change can be made.
Please be patient throughout this process. Our counseling team will work diligently to review all requests as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure students are appropriately scheduled for the upcoming school year.

Late Arrival/Early Release Form Now Available
Dear Parents and Students,
The Late Arrival/Early Release form is now available on our school website.
If your student is planning to take an off-campus class, please complete the form and submit it to the main office no later than the due date indicated on the form. Once received, all requests will be reviewed and will be approved only if the student’s schedule permits.
For your convenience, the form is also included in this message for your review.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Cell Phone and Electronics Use Policy
As we continue to focus on creating the best learning environment for our students, we want to remind you of Florida’s law regarding cell phone and electronic device use in schools.
What the law says:
- Students may not use cell phones or electronic devices during instructional time unless a teacher gives permission for educational purposes.
- High school students may use devices only during lunch or for approved academic activities.
- Elementary and middle school students are prohibited from using devices during the school day.
This law is designed to reduce distractions and help students stay engaged in learning.
Any electronic device used outside of lunch or without teacher approval will be confiscated and students can pick them up in the office at the end of the day. If students continue to use devices outside of lunch, parents will be called to come pick up the devices. Our goal is to ensure compliance with state expectations and maintain a focused, safe learning environment.
Please remind your student about these rules so we can work together to support their success. Thank you for your partnership!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Classroom Changing Times
Hey Students!
Let’s keep our hallways safe and our classrooms focused! Starting now, please stay in class until the bell rings.
Leaving early—even just a few minutes—creates distractions for classes still in session and leads to crowded hallways without supervision. We know you’re eager to get to your next stop, but let’s show respect for everyone’s learning time.
Remember:
- The bell is your signal to move.
- Clear hallways = better focus for everyone.
- Together, we make our school an awesome place to learn!
Thanks for your cooperation and for showing your Bull Pride every day!

Traffic Flow Reminder for Drop-Off and Pick-Up
To ensure a safe and efficient experience for all families and to help our buses stay on schedule, please follow these traffic guidelines:
-
Bus Loop Access: The bus loop is reserved for school buses. Please do not enter this loop.
-
Front Office Loop: This area is designated for families whose students require assistance getting in and out of vehicles. These cars need to display their green access card for this loop.
-
Student Parking Lot Loop: All other cars should use the student parking lot loop for drop-off and pick-up. This loop exits to the right through the back gate until all buses have departed campus.
-
Exit Procedures: Once all buses have left campus, both exits of the student parking lot will be opened to ease traffic flow.
These procedures are in place to ensure that buses can depart promptly and arrive at their next destinations on time. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our campus safe and running smoothly!
7-Eleven Parking Lot
Parents, we need your help to ensure the safety of our students and community. Please do not use the 7-Eleven parking lot in front of our school for student drop-off or pick-up at anytime. This area is private property and has become extremely congested during arrival and dismissal. The high volume of cars is causing unsafe conditions and confusion for drivers, students, and customers at 7-Eleven.
To keep everyone safe, please only use the designated drop-off and pick-up areas on the school campus.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping students safe.
AP Capstone Diploma Requirements to earn Florida Bright Futures Scholarship
AP Capstone Diploma & Florida Bright Futures Scholarship
We are excited to share important information about the Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma Program and recent legislative updates that may impact your student’s eligibility for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
The AP Capstone Diploma Program is a prestigious College Board program that equips students with independent research, collaborative teamwork, and communication skills. It consists of two foundational courses—AP Seminar and AP Research—plus four additional AP courses. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research, along with four additional AP Exams, are awarded the AP Capstone Diploma.
Florida House Bill 1105 authorizes the use of the AP Capstone designation to meet specific diploma eligibility requirements for the Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) award under the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
It is important to note that earning the AP Capstone designation does not replace the requirements for earning a standard high school diploma.
To qualify for the Florida Academic Scholars award through the AP Capstone Diploma pathway for students who began high school prior to the 2025–2026 school year (current 10th, 11th, and 12th graders), students must achieve:
- A score of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research
- Scores of 3 or higher on four additional AP Exams of the student’s choice
To qualify for the Florida Academic Scholars award through the AP Capstone Diploma pathway for students who begin high school in 2025–2026 and beyond (current 9th graders and future students), students must achieve:
- A score of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research
- Scores of 3 or higher on three AP Exams that satisfy graduation requirements in English Language Arts, Math, Science, or Social Studies
- A score of 3 or higher on one additional AP Exam of the student’s choice
We are committed to supporting your students’ academic journey and ensuring they have access to the opportunities that best prepare them for college and beyond. If you have any questions about the AP Capstone Program or Bright Futures eligibility, please don’t hesitate to contact your student’s school counselor.
The AP Capstone Diploma Program is offered at Wiregrass Ranch High School.
