Rawhitiroa School Newsletter
Friday 30th October - Term 4 Week 3
Tumuaki Pānui
Kia ora koutou
What a great start to the term we have had. First up was our pet day and mini gala. This was a great day and a very successful fundraiser for the school. It was fantastic seeing so many students entered in the pet day. Not only the knowledge they knew about their animal but also the bond they had created. Thank you to everyone for your help and support on the day.
This was followed by the interschool, Ngaere, Eltham and Rawhitiroa Schools, speech competition. Ethan and Arabella represented our school both speaking very well and narrowly missing out on going through to the next competition. Well done both of you.
Next up was Puanga this week. The performance the students gave surpassed anything they had previously done. Well done to all of you and a big thank you to our Kapa Haka tutors Kauby and Ajay and support teacher Carline.
Next week the sporting events for the term begin. Year 5-8 students have two athletics events, and the junior students are off to tabloid sports. We also hope to hold our annual Rawhitiroa School athletics event as well. Thank you to everyone who is able to help with transport for these events.
Our end of year testing has commenced. I have been very impressed with the attitude of the students towards these assessment tasks and the effort they are putting into reading the tasks and considering the answer.
As we look to prepare our strategic direction moving forward from 2027, we are seeking your input. There are some aspects that we are required to include from a ministerial perspective but the direction comes from our community. A short survey will come out by email next week. The questionnaire is short with only 6 questions and should not take long to complete, we would really like to hear back from every family. If you would prefer a paper copy please let us know.
Have a great weekend.
