The Fruit Scoop!
September 2026
Message from Mr. Fournier
I hope everyone has enjoyed a great start to the school year and it hard to believe we are into the middle of September. I want to thank all of the teachers, staff, and the Fruit Street School families for an incredible start to the school year 2026-2027.
The first weeks of school have flown by, however, if anyone has any concerns; please do not hesitate to contact me. I want to work with all the Fruit Street School families to make this a great year for all students.
For the safety of our students, all visitors to school must sign in at the office and wear a visitor’s pass at all times. In the morning, please drop off your child(ren) at the appropriate playground. Please try to move along when dropping off your child, so the duty teachers can focus on the students. Thank you for your help in keeping all students safe in the morning. In the afternoon, please be aware of the No Parking Signs and white crosshatching—keeping vehicles clear of these areas ensures the safety of our students. Changes to your child’s afternoon dismissal routine must be received by 2 p.m. and in writing, unless an absolute emergency.
Safety Information:
- Please remember to use the sidewalks before and after school. This will help to ensure the safety for all students as they enter and leave the school.
- Please remember that no dogs are allowed at school, since this is for the safety of the students, who may be allergic or may be frightened by a dog.
- As part of the safety procedures set forth by the Bangor School Department, the students will be taking part in fire and lock down drills throughout the year.

Early Release Day
We have 7 Early Release Days built into our school calendar. These are days when our students' school day ends at noon, so our teachers and staff members can participate in professional develpment. Our first Early Release Day is scheduled for this coming Wednesday, September 16. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm. Please let the school know if your child will be going home a different way than they normally do.
