School Spotlight - The Write Juice Truck at San Altos Elementary! 🍓
Thriving mentorship and empowerment are happening at San Altos Elementary! The school recently hosted a special visit from The Write Juice Truck, an organization dedicated to blending health back into the community. During the visit, the Write Juice Truck team engaged with the 4th-6th grade young ladies of the Fancy Club. While this session (in partnership with The Write Juice Truck) focused on building self-esteem and teamwork, the overall F.A.N.C.Y. Club program emphasizes mentorship and leadership, equipping young ladies with valuable life skills that foster confidence and strengthen community connections.

General Wellness Tips:

2025 MLK 5K Fun Run & Festival Highlights
The 2025 MLK 5K Fun Run & Festival in San Diego last month was a vibrant celebration of community, unity, and health. The event brought together participants of all ages, and Lemon Grove School District proudly had over 100 registrations from students, families, and staff. With its lively atmosphere, the festival offered a variety of activities that promoted fitness and fun, while honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This event not only encouraged physical activity but also fostered a sense of togetherness and commitment to positive change within LGSD and the community.
Special thank you to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated and the Alpha Foundation for sponsoring Lemon Grove School Districts participation. Every participant was awarded a shirt and finishers medal.
This month we honor families and the rich history of Black, African American, and Pan-African community members that continue to shape our world and community in positive ways.
