Hello!

I am so excited to be spending another year learning about amazing musicians with your students! Sweet Honey in the Rock is an acapella group started by Bernice Johnson Reagon in 1973 in Washington, DC. The group now includes Nitanju Bolade Casel, Aisha Kahlil, Louise Robinson Carol Maillard and acoustic/electric bass player Romeir Mendez. Barbara Hunt, an ASL interpreter, also performs with the group. Sweet Honey in the Rock has won 2 Grammy Awards and has released 24 albums since they started in 1973.

Below, you will find some of our favorite Sweet Honey in the Rock performances. I have also included a link to a Spotify playlist. Each month, I will add songs from the current Musician of the Month. I hope you enjoy!
