Where are you getting your Capital Improvement Project Info?
Fact vs. Fiction:
The Rumor (Fiction): The restroom renovations are purely cosmetic and a waste of funds.
The Reality (Fact): The renovations address aging infrastructure. Many high school restrooms are original to the buildings, requiring significant repairs to plumbing, ventilation, and ADA accessibility to meet modern standards.
The Rumor (Fiction): The district is removing all traditional restroom options.
The Reality (Fact): Privacy and safety are the top priorities. The project focuses on creating modern, private, and secure facilities that improve supervision and reduce the "hidden" areas often associated with older restroom layouts.
The Rumor (Fiction): This project will cause a massive immediate spike in local property taxes.
The Reality (Fact): The project is fiscally planned. By utilizing state aid and strategic debt scheduling, the district aims to minimize the impact on taxpayers while maintaining our communityโs assets.
The Rumor (Fiction): Decisions have already been made without community input.
The Reality (Fact): We want your feedback. The upcoming Public Information Sessions on April 27 and May 12 are specifically designed for community members to ask questions and see the "why" for themselves. We have also been presenting this information at the Board of Education Meetings.
