A Message from Principal Anita O'Neill
December 14, 2025
Dear Coyote Community,
Boy, is it cold outside today! As I write this, I’m snuggled under a blanket with a warm dog on either side. If you need to be out and about, please bundle up—it’s only going to get colder. Also, please stay alert for any announcements regarding school opening tomorrow. While roads appear to have been treated, cold overnight temperatures can always lead to refreezing.
We are down to our final seven school days before winter break. While we are all looking forward to some well-deserved time off, I want to remind students that we are not on break just yet. It is essential that all students attend every class, remain for the full period, and continue to give their best effort. As I’ve shared in previous newsletters, the time remaining in the semester after break is very limited, and we want to avoid unnecessary stress or a backlog of work that did not receive appropriate attention beforehand.
A reminder that we are celebrating a December to Remember, with a different theme each day. The calendar is included below, and we hope everyone will join in the fun.
Stay warm and enjoy the rest of your weekend. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the Clarksburg community—here’s to a wonderful week ahead!
Warmly,
Ms. O’Neill

Celebrations
Toy Drive Success
The Clarksburg National Honor Society raised over 250 toys for the community of Snowden Farm Elementary School. On December 10th, parents from Snowden Farm were invited to come and “shop” for their children. On hand were 40 members of the NHS to greet the parents, entertain the children, gift wrap and organize the toys. It was a great time for the NHS members and for the Snowden Farm community and we hope to make it an annual event. A special thanks to the Cherry family who donated not just toys but coats and winter clothing to support the community. Another thanks to all the Clarksburg High School NHS, community, and Assistant Principal Lindsay Cao who donated toys, backpacks, clothing, and food to make this event such a success.
An All-American in the House!
The Girls' Flag Football team is excited to announce that Grace Gentilli will play in the US Military Bowl next Friday in Dallas. She is the only player from Maryland chosen. The game will be streamed and a link will be shared when available.
In other Flag news, Commanders Coach of the Year, KC Landefeld has been elevated to the Don Shula award, a national honor.
Finally, the team is being recognized at Ravens game on December 21 along with the other flag and tackle teams.
