MCP3 Staff News
Week of 9/21/26
Peterson's Message- K3 Director
Greetings MCP3 Team!
I am thrilled with how strong our team's alignment has been starting this year! Here are some overall highlights for our MCP3 team that all staff should be proud of:
- Teachers are at Threshold at 7:30am with clipboards in hands or on a shelf directly nearby the door.
- Staff are greeting BOTH the adult dropping off AND the scholar with smiles. Scholars are offered a threshold greeting of choice (high five, handshake, hug, wave).
- EAs are in the classroom supporting scholars with morning routine of hand washing and beginning table top activity.
- 100% of classrooms have a system for scholars to sign in/check in for the day upon arrival.
- Our staff attendance and communication has been incredible!
- Transitions to RR/Recess are solid- staff are taking count, use a signal for scholars, and expecting scholars to walk at a level 0, eyes forward, hands to self in a single file line.
As we continue to increase our use of Positive Descriptive Feedback, let's ensure that we are using the Dojo Positive Skill points as well! This helps scholars to feel recognized for their success, efforts, and behavior. It also lets parents know that their child is meeting expectations, making good choices, and that their teachers see them!
Continue to challenge yourself to teach some new MCP cheers this week and connect them with your Positive Descriptive feedback to bring the high expectations AND JOY! Here is a link to a list of MCP Chants and Cheers to help find some good ones! We learned a couple at our PD including the Ballin' Remix & the Science Experiment!
Let's make it a fun week!
With all the Love and Respect,
Peterson

Lead Teachers
Benchmark Assessment Analysis
Teams spent ample time analyzing their fall benchmark data and making intentional plans using the data for whole group needs, our high flyers, and our support groups! I can't wait to see the engaging learning experiences our scholars will get with our EAs!
Interactive Teaching Tools
Shout out to Ms. Harrell and Ms. Blevins for their modeling of how to use our interactive TV as a teaching tool more effectively! Be sure to take some time to test it out- you know who to reach out to for support!
Staff Shout outs
This was by far the most focused we have ever been! It was hard to cut you off from all of the wonderful shout outs you wanted to give! There are more shout out sheets at the front office counter if you want to keep them going!
A Genuine Feel Good Moment
Some shoutouts bring the tears.... We are truly blessed to have this team!
Brookfield Academy Volunteers
Students from Brookfield Academy will join the MCP3 program for a special day of service. During their visit, students will assist teachers in the classroom by supporting daily activities, engaging with our young scholars, and helping create a positive and enriching learning environment. Their service and support will provide an extra set of helping hands while allowing them to make a meaningful impact on MCP’s youngest learners.
Here are some helpful details/tips to make this experience a success:
- 1-2 volunteers will be assigned to each classroom
- take time to have your volunteer introduce themselves to your class (their name, what grade they are in, their favorite thing about high school, where they want to go to college, what they want to study/do for their career, fun fact)
- Remind scholars your expectations don't change and have scholars help tell them what the class expectations are
- Have an activity for them to do with scholars (small group during centers, read aloud, etc.)
- Think of how else they can assist during whole group time.
- Be sure to have scholars give them a "thank you" cheer when they head out at 11:30am.

ClassDojo
We want to ensure we have 100% of families connected on Dojo! Here is where we are currently at:
- Panthers- 95%
- Tigers- 100%
- Antelopes- 95%
- Bulldogs- 100%
- Golden Eagles- 100%
**Be sure to edit your class if you have scholars that are unenrolled and add students to your class when you get new scholars!
**Friday means it is time for your classroom dojo incentive! Scholars should be rewarded for their good behavior from the week. Remember- not everybody gets a cookie. So if scholars have not earned the prizes/incentives that's ok. They can try again next week. Be specific with which classroom expectation and rule they need to work on. If you need support with setting up your classroom dojo incentive please reach out!
Field Trips🚌
Quarter 1 Field Trips should be scheduled and on the calendar.
**Make sure to reference the MCP calendar when scheduling field trips.
**Classrooms may wish to buddy up with other rooms for Field Trips.
**Once Field Trip is scheduled- staff should fill out the Field Trip form on the MCP Launch Page.
**Classrooms have a $2,600 budget for the year for Field Trips.
