Happy New Year!

Welcome back to the 2nd half of our school year! We are in full swing with instruction. We are excited to be heading into the 3rd Nine Weeks. During this time, it is important for you to do a mid-year check with your child's teacher to ensure their academic progress. You may do this by contacting your child's teacher and requesting a conference. Your child's teacher may also contact you to request a conference based on their performance at this time. Thank you for all you do to make White Knoll Elementary the best!

Community Support - Give Hope

White Knoll Elementary is honored to have great community support to fulfill our vision of "Empowering Every Child to Design Their Future". We are proud of our accomplishments and achievements this year and we owe it all to the great partnerships we have with the White Knoll Community. To that end, I would like to share two random acts of kindness that demonstrates what an effective partnership can do to support our students, families and school.

Prior to leaving for Winter Break, a 'White Knoll Angel' paid the lunch account for every student and staff. This anonymous gesture enabled everyone to begin with a zero balance. This was a powerful example of Hope for the New Year!

Earlier this week, we were presented with a generous donation from Radius Church - White Knoll Campus. The memo line of the donation simply stated, "Give Hope". This donation will be used to support White Knoll Elementary in all areas. We are grateful that the Radius family trusted us to be good stewards of their support. We will continue to empower students, connect with families, and reach success with effective school-community partnerships. All means ALL at White Knoll Elementary! Together, We Will!

Thank you for believing in the work we do for children everyday! You MATTER!

Safety Reminder

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we implemented our new Access Control System (Buzz-in Door). The safety of our school is always a top priority for us.

As a gentle reminder, ALL doors will be locked at 7:45 A.M. and visitors will be required to “buzz in” to gain access to the building through a closed circuit monitoring system. After 7:45 AM, parents are required to walk students in the building as you will need enter though the new Buzz-in System. Thank you again for your cooperation as we continue to keep everyone safe.

DID YOU KNOW??

Making a threat — whether in person, through a telephone call, a text message, an email or even a social media post — could mean a criminal offense for a student because of a relatively new law. In May of 2018, an amendment to the S.C. Code of Laws created the new crime “Student Threats” (Section 16-17-425).

As school officials, we must report any student threat and investigate. Your child’s safety is too important for us to risk assuming someone is joking or that it is just kids being kids.
