SRES Vision/Mission
Slate Ridge Elementary is committed to nurturing young minds and fostering lifelong learning while cultivating an inclusive and engaging school environment where all students develop social and emotional competence and problem solving skills to facilitate experiences for future success.
SRES Literacy Improvement Vision:
We believe every child can learn to read with the right instruction and support. Guided by the Science of Reading, our team is committed to explicit teaching, consistent practices, and timely intervention to ensure all students leave elementary school as strong, confident readers.
Principal’s Corner
Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up soon! These conferences are an important opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, learn about their progress, celebrate their successes, and work together to support their continued growth.
Please reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule a conference time. Our first conference evening is October 7, followed by our second evening on October 15. We strongly encourage all families to schedule a time and take advantage of this important opportunity to connect with our teachers.
Thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and school community. Have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Dr. Parlar, Principal
Assistant Principal's Corner
Today, Slate Ridge Elementary was filled with helping hands as United Way and Designer Brands joined us for a special Day of Service! Our volunteers spent the day beautifying our school and outdoor spaces, including refreshing playground areas, cleaning and planting, and adding special touches to make our school a welcoming place for students and families.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and care they poured into our school. Thank you, United Way and Designer Brands, for helping make Slate Ridge shine!

Annual Title 1 Meeting
Date: October 7, 2026
Time: 4:00 PM
Location: Slate Ridge Elementary Cafeteria
Dear Slate Ridge Elementary Families,
You are cordially invited to attend our Annual Title I Meeting on October 7 at 4:00 PM in the Slate Ridge Elementary Cafeteria.
Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) [reauthorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)] provides financial assistance to school districts with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families. This funding helps ensure that all our children meet the high expectations of challenging academic content standards.
At this meeting, we will discuss how Title I funds support our students, our academic programs, and how we can work together to promote student success.
This is an optional meeting, and all of our parents are welcome to join us. We value your voice and partnership in our school community!
We hope to see you there!
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Morning Arrival (8:20–8:30 AM)
Enter from Taylor Rd., drive through the car rider loop, and drop students along the sidewalk in the designated zone. Students will enter through the back gym entrance. Doors close at 8:30 AM sharp—any student arriving after this time will be marked tardy and must be signed in at the front office by a parent/guardian.
Afternoon Dismissal (2:55 PM)
Dismissal begins at 2:55 PM using the same car rider loop. Car riders MUST have their YELLOW dismissal card displayed on the windshield—no exceptions. All students must be picked up by 3:15 PM; after this time, we may contact Reynoldsburg Police or CPS if we cannot reach you.
Office Pick-Up
If picking up a student from the office during school hours or after 2:55 PM, a state-issued ID is required. No exceptions.
