PBIS @ WMMS PBIS @ WMMS

We had our first monthly PBIS assembly on August 29th to celebrate the first two weeks of school and talk about our expectations of being respectful, responsible and safe. Our district goal is 93% attendance and that will be our monthly goal for each grade level as a competition for house points and rewards. We also set goals for office discipline referrals which are to always be lower than the previous year. Once we start our Principal Advisory Committee (one student from every advisory class that meets with the principal once a month) they will set more specific goals based on previous year's grade level data. More information on our Principal Advisory Committee and application process will be sent soon via email to parents/guardians. At the end of each assembly we play a game to win house points. House Generosity won our hula hoop contest!

August Attendance Data

6th grade = 94.1%

7th grade = 91.6%

8th grade = 94.8%

A Note from Mrs. Stephens in the Library A Note from Mrs. Stephens in the Library

We are off to a great start in the library this year! So far, students have already checked out 560 books! It is time for our September Monthly Reading Challenge. Each student who turns in a completed challenge sheet will receive five house points and a prize from Mrs. Stephens.

Does your student have a special day coming up? Consider donating a book to the library in their honor. Visit our Amazon Wish List to see the books we would love to add to the library. If you make a purchase, please fill out the gift message, and I will make sure to put a note in the front of the book in honor of your child.

Also, if you happen to have any of the books on our wish list in good condition and gathering dust on a shelf, we would love to get them in our students’ hands!

For more information about all things library, check out the WMMS Library Media Center Website.
