Parent and Community Engagement at Truitt Middle School
Hello Timberwolf families,
I want to welcome everyone to the 2026-2027 school year at Truitt Middle School! I hope everyone is enjoying their time this summer and that our students are doing well. I would say it is quiet around here without them, but as you may have noticed driving by, there are several construction projects going on. We are excited for all of the upgrades to Fine Arts, Industrial Tech, and many other areas that are going to directly benefit your students.
Since the end of school, we have been working as a staff to prepare for next year, but we have also been able to celebrate all of the growth and progress we saw in the Timberwolves last year. While final numbers are not available yet, Truitt Middle School grew academically in every grade and subject area. We are very proud of the hard work of our students and staff.
This upcoming year, we want to focus on attendance and academics. It is so important for students to be at school and engaged with their education, and we need your support. Education is one of the keys to students enjoying a prosperous and fulfilling life.
Below you will see some key dates and events as we open the school year. We would love for you and your student to attend and participate. There are some great products available at our campus online store, but order soon as the deadline is July 10th!
We especially hope to see you at our Timberwolves Express Night on August 6, 2026.

Procedures for Students Leaving Early
Dear Parents and Guardians,
If you plan on having your student leave early because of a doctor's appointment or non-emergency, please follow these procedures:
- Send a handwritten note with your student information and the time needed to be excused (please make sure your student gives it to attendance before 1st period).
- If sending a note through email, please make sure you attach a photo of your ID and you must send it an hour prior to leaving.
- No emails or early releases after 2:30 pm due to the dismissal process starting.
Please keep in mind that the state of Texas requires students to be in attendance at least 90% for each class or they will be in danger of losing credit. Try to schedule appointments for after school and ensure your student is on time for first period every day.
Other helpful tips:
- Make sure if your student is absent, please send a doctor's note when your student arrives back to school.
- Only emergency contacts listed can be allowed to take students with previous approval from guardian.
- If a student arrives at school after 7:55 am, make sure to sign them in or send a note. Otherwise, they will be counted absent.
If you have any questions or concerns,
Please email nancy.torres2@cfisd.net or jennifer.villareal@cfisd.net
for any attendance needs

A Parent's Right to Know
Title I is a federally funded program meant to provide opportunities for disadvantaged
children to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to help close the
achievement gap. As a parent of a student receiving Title 1 funds, federal law allows
parents to ask for information about the certification of your child's teacher and/or paraprofessional.
