Strategic Plan: Moving District 41 Forward
Earlier this school year, District 41 began the important work of refreshing the current Strategic Plan to guide our efforts through 2027. The collaborative process reflects the voices of the community, Board of Education, staff, and students, and reaffirms the district’s shared commitment to excellence.
With support from Dr. Karen Sullivan, a consultant from the Regional Office of Education, the Board of Education and district administration partnered with subcommittees made up of staff and community members. Together, they reviewed data, discussed the district’s strengths and areas for growth, and gathered valuable input from the public during a Board of Education Committee of the Whole engagement session.
The result is a more streamlined, focused Strategic Plan designed to move District 41 forward in a purposeful and meaningful way. The refreshed plan includes four key goals, clear action steps, defined metrics, and a new tool to help track progress over time. The Board of Education approved the plan at the March 17, 2025, Board meeting.
The four goals that will anchor our work through 2027 are:
Foster Growth-Focused Academic Excellence
Nurture a Culture of Belonging
Optimize Early Learning Facilities for Student Success
Strengthen Community Connections
Last Chance for 5Essentials Parent Survey
All parents are encouraged to participate in a brief survey to help District 41 gather valuable data to inform school improvement. The Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey is administered annually by the Illinois State Board of Education. The survey is open now through March 31, 2025.
Click here to take the survey and choose “Parent Survey.” The deadline is March 31
Each school needs at least 20 percent parent participation for a data report to be provided for the school. Thank you in advance for your participation. Your feedback is very much appreciated!
For questions regarding the survey, please email 5Essentials@isbe.net.
Glen Ellyn Lions Club Helps Students See and Succeed
District 41 thanks the Glen Ellyn Lions Club for its support in providing vital eye care to students in need. Thanks to their partnership with school staff and DuPage Family Eyecare, dozens of children in Glen Ellyn (across Districts 41, 89, and 87) have received comprehensive eye exams and eyeglasses at no cost to families.
The need for this service has grown significantly in recent years. In the 2023–24 school year, the Lions Club supported 14 student referrals. So far this school year (2024–25), they have already approved 27 new pairs of glasses. With rising demand, the Lions Club is working hard to meet the growing need through additional fundraising and donations.
Thank you to the Glen Ellyn Lions Club for their continued dedication to student wellness and academic success.
The Greatest Show Presented by Hadley Theatre Arts
What a show-stopping weekend at the Hadley Auditorium! From March 7–9, over 100 talented cast and crew members brought the magic of The Greatest Show to life on stage!
A huge congratulations to our incredible students for their passion, energy, and hard work. You wowed the crowd and lit up the stage with every scene!
Thanks to the amazing volunteers and dedicated staff who made this unforgettable musical possible.

7th Grade Bands Shine at Chicago Wolves Game!
The 7th Grade Hadley Bands performed at the Chicago Wolves Game! Students played a setlist of popular music at the East Gate Entrance, captivating a huge crowd before the game. The students enjoyed concessions, cheered on the hockey team, and received some awesome swag! It was a wonderful Friday night, creating unforgettable memories for our musicians. A huge thank you to the dedicated parent chaperones for their support, and a special shoutout to Hadley Assistant Principal, Bob Guzzetti, for joining us for the event!
