Lutherville Lab Report
What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.
January 21, 2022
It was another abbreviated week here at the Lab, but our students got in some good learning while here! Thank you for your ongoing flexibility and patience as we navigate weather closures. We are looking forward (with fingers crossed) for a 5 day week next week!
As we navigate this Omicron wave and staff absences, I want to just reassure that we have been able -- fortunately -- to cover all of our absences with our regular substitutes and on a couple of occasions with support from staff in our curriculum offices. I was even out a couple days earlier this week and Mrs. Hart and the team stepped up so that we didn't miss a beat. In the event that any staff member has to be out, we have contingencies and supports in place (even Nurse Vita has a coverage plan from Office of Health Services and in-building backups to the backups!).
Looking ahead:
- Extra-curricular activities may resume beginning next week and we are excited to bring that back for our students!
- Class Pictures are on Wednesday January 26th. Please see the order information attached.
- Pajama day is on Friday, January 28th
Here's to a 5-day week ahead!
In partnership,
-Mr. McComb
Lutherville Lab Coat Awardee - Mrs. Tunison
The students presenting the coat noted Mrs. Tunison stands out for her inspirational love of music, commitment to 100% of 5th graders learning an instrument, welcoming presence in the mornings, teaching them about training service dogs, and her drama club and steel drum band!
Lab Coat Awardees from earlier this year:
- Ms. Baker for her outstanding contributions and support over the summer
- Mrs. Santiago for her leadership in covering a classroom and teaching during an absence
- Mrs. Lawler for her work leading our Climate Team, planning a great field trip, and building student relationships
- Mrs. Austen for her support of schoolwide re-engagement initiatives and tutoring and support of Monarch Butterflies and Trout in the Classroom programs
