Mr. Collier

Week 24 is finished and we have a long weekend! Students, CTC, and staff are all off next Monday 2/19/24. This week we surpassed the 100th day of school and celebrated by wearing 101 Dalmatians color theme clothing. (See pictures below) Our teachers and staff have been working diligently to catch students up from snow days and sickness! Our students are doing some amazing things and working very hard to meet their full potential! Below you will see some of the great things going on at Oak Ridge Junior High and High School!

Thank you all and have a great weekend!

Things Mr. Collier Needs Help With

Oak Ridge is a community with a long standing tradition of taking care of one another. I am no different and sometimes I need help too. You will notice every week I will need help with certain things around the school and I am looking for leaders and students that want to help make a positive impact on Oak Ridge Schools!

  1. Cell Phones. Last semester went pretty smooth, so let's carry that into second semester. Please ensure you put your phone in the phone holder each hour in every classroom.
  2. Respect. I want to make sure we are being respectful to our classmates and our teachers. Please step up and be a leader and ensure we are being respectful to everyone and ALL TIMES!
  3. Walk to Lunch. Please make sure you are walking to lunch!
  4. Keep your hands to yourself. Students keep your hands and feet to yourself. Horseplay is not allowed.

101st Dalmatian Day!

"In English today students celebrated the 101st day of school. Ms. Berjer asked the students the TOP FIVE 'phrases' she says most frequently. Ms. Berjer made 101 Dalmatians inspired brownies that her students enjoyed!"

Jess Fronabarger February Staff Shoutout Jess Fronabarger February Staff Shoutout

Jess has planned morale events for each month and ensures each one is carried out in top notch fashion. Jess, spent tons of her own time planning a district wide scavenger hunt where each employee left with main course food items. Jess is always willing to help her colleagues in any way and has really stepped up in preparing for writing science curriculum next year. Jess also received a grant for planters and has plans to donate the vegetables produced to FACS classes so students can see the benefits. Jess is a top notch educator and we are proud to have her! Thanks for all your hard work!

Apprenticeship Program

Oak Ridge High School is now officially registered for the Apprenticeship Program through The United States Department of Labor. This program will allow our students to get a jump start into career fields and trades while still being in high school. Their work hours will also go towards a work certificate that can be provided to them by the U.S. Department of Labor after 2000 hours of on the job learning/working. (While being paid!!) We look forward to expanding this program in the years to come! A huge SHOUTOUT to Mrs. Schroeder for all her handwork and effort to get us here! Thank you Mrs. Schroeder!
