PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME
Dear Parents
Welcome to Term 4, I trust that your holiday was a positive one and am sure you are happy that the children are back at school this week. There will be many events this term for both the children and families to be involved in.
St John Paul II Feast Day
St John Paul II Feast Day is Monday 20th October and children will be able to come in free dress to help celebrate the occasion. A liturgy will start the day, followed by activities focusing on St John Paul II. Children will have the opportunity in the afternoon to purchase ‘goodies’ and participate in fun activities organised by the various classes and teachers. The emphasis for this part of the day is on fun – we suggest children bring between 5 and 10 dollars to spend at the various stalls. Proceeds will be distributed to a variety of charities (Catholic Mission, Wheelchair for Kids, Lifeline).
Interschool Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to students who have been chosen to represent our school at the interschool athletics carnival being held next Thursday 23rd October. There will be morning training sessions on Monday and Tuesday to assist the athletes to prepare for the carnival, and we wish them all well.
Enrolments
Whilst at this stage we are full for Kindergarten in 2026, there are places available in other year levels. Interviews for Pre-Kindy 2026 and Kindergarten 2027 have commenced and I encourage all families to submit their applications, so they do not miss out on a place. Please also encourage anyone new to the area to contact us and seek some information about our school. Last term we introduced a refer a friend incentive, being that if you invite a friend to join SJPIICPS, and they enrol, then you will receive $100 off your child’s school fees.
2026
We are currently preparing classes for 2026, please let the school office know if you are not planning to return to SJPIICPS.
School Run4Fun Colour Explosion
There is much excitement leading up to the School Run4Fun Colour Explosion on Friday
14th November. Don’t forget to fund raise, as proceeds from the event go towards installing a swing on the top oval for our children. This year we are offering an icy pole treat to each member of the class that has the most children fundraise.
Community Meeting
The Annual School Community Meeting will be held in the school library on Wednesday
19th November, beginning at 5:00pm. If you are interested in being part of the P&F Committee or joining the Advisory Council, please complete the form in this newsletter and return to the office. Please contact me for further information. Parents are encouraged to attend the Annual Community Meeting.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Sacrament of Reconciliation Parent Meeting
On Tuesday 28 October at 5pm there will be a parent and student information session, held in the Parish hall. This meeting is an essential part of the lead up to your child’s special day. The meeting is an opportunity for clarification of logistics of the ceremony, and for parents and children to recall together what this special Sacrament is all about.
Please pray for all the candidates who will be receiving this Sacrament next term.
Sacramental Reminders – Key Dates:
These are the important dates for parents to note in their calendars:

ST JOHN PAUL II FEAST DAY CELEBRATIONS
We will celebrate the feast day of Saint John Paul II with a whole school Liturgy starting at 9am on Monday 20 October. Everyone is welcome to join us.
Following this the students will spend some time looking into the life and teachings of our patron Saint.
In the afternoon students will attend our annual 'Funraiser'. Activities will range from 50c to $1. Students can also wear free dress.
CAR PARK DROP OFFS
When using our car parks please be mindful of others when dropping children to school and collecting them at the end of each day.
If you wish to use the Kiss N Ride please use the entrance off Laricina Bend.
When entering through the main entrance please do not stop to drop off your children on the corner, rather continue round to the stopping area or pull into one of the bays.
Thank you
