Thank you so much to all the families that joined us at our first fundraiser at Big Air on Friday evening! We hope you had the best time! Be sure to pencil down Thursday, March 26th for our next Chick-fil-A fundraiser that gives back 25% of proceeds to DeKeyser for any purchases from 6am-10pm. Forms and payment for our Mother/Son Game Night at Free Play Pinball Arcade are due this week before break! The cost is $40 per couple and $15 for additional sons. We hope to see you on Wednesday, April 8th for an evening of gaming, pizza, dessert, and fun with our DeKeyser boys and a special lady!!

Each school year, the board members of our Parent Teacher Communication Group must be nominated, voted on, and elected by our school community. PTCG is looking for individuals that want to be leaders at our school and make a positive impact for our students. There will be several open board positions for next school year, so we need your support! If you are interested in nominating someone for our PTCG board, nominating our current board members that are interested in staying on the board, or nominating yourself to join the board, please stop by the Main Office to fill out a nomination slip now before the break. Students in grades 3-6, along with their parents and guardians, are invited to attend a Family Game Night at Henry Ford II High School on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. This event is co-sponsored by Mind Education, the parent company of ST Math, which is being used in grades 3-6.

We are asking for your support to help keep our students safe. If you plan to volunteer in our classrooms, work directly with a student and/or chaperone a field trip, etc. you will need to have a volunteer background check on file. The new volunteer application form is located at this link: www.uticak12.org/volunteer. The background check involves multiple state and federal law enforcement databases. We greatly appreciate the involvement of our families and the difference you make at DeKeyser Elementary. Thank you for your partnership with this extra step that will improve safety in our school.

A few reminders:

Please have all required documentation ready before you begin.
The application must be completed in one sitting.
One application can be used for multiple schools
Once approved, you will be cleared to volunteer in UCS schools

Utica Community Schools is pleased to provide an opportunity for School Age Child Care (SACC)!

DeKeyser Options are as follows:

Morning SACC: Monday - Friday 6: 45 am - 9:05 am (Currently registering on a waitlist)

Afternoon SACC: Monday - Friday 3:55 pm – 6:00 pm at Messmore Elementary

Students will be bussed to this location after school.

The 2026-2027 PreK for All pre-application opens December 9, 2025. PreK for All is a free preschool program funded through the Michigan Department of Education, Please see the attached flyer (14A).

To be eligible for the 2026-2027 school year, children must be four years old on or before September 1, 2026.
