Good Afternoon, Rose Pioneer Elementary Families!

What a wonderful week at Rose Pioneer! Parent-teacher conferences were a great reminder of how fortunate we are to have such a supportive school community. I want to take a moment to celebrate some of the amazing things that happened and extend a HUGE thank-you to our families, volunteers, and staff who helped make it all possible!

I also want to extend a HUGE thank-you to our amazing Rose Pioneer Group and Families! They went above and beyond to support our staff by providing a wonderful variety of food, drinks, and desserts during conferences. After long days of teaching and meeting with families, these thoughtful gestures meant so much to our staff. We truly felt appreciated, and we are so grateful for their kindness and generosity! Our Parent Group also organized and ran the Scholastic Book Fair during the school day and throughout conferences. It was so exciting to see our students browsing books, discovering new interests, and sharing their excitement about reading! We appreciate the time and effort our volunteers put into creating these opportunities that help foster a love of reading in our students.

We were excited to welcome 55 families to our Title I meetings during conferences! Mrs. Kittle and Ms. Pecchio shared that it was wonderful to connect with families and share how our Title I funds are being used to directly support students and families at Rose Pioneer. Parents appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the resources, programs, and opportunities made possible through this funding. These conversations also gave us a chance to answer questions, share information, and strengthen our partnership between home and school. Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend!

Another exciting celebration was our 5th Grade Bake Sale, which was a wonderful success! Thank you to our 5th-grade families and student leaders who helped organize, bake, donate, and support this fundraiser, along with everyone who stopped by to purchase a treat. The money raised will go directly toward reducing the cost of 5th-grade camp for our students, helping make this memorable experience more affordable for families.

Whether you attended conferences, participated in a Title I meeting, shopped at the Book Fair, supported the bake sale, or helped provide food for our staff, YOU helped make this week a success! I continue to be grateful for the kindness, generosity, and partnership of our Rose Pioneer families. When our school and families work together, amazing things happen for kids!

Thank you for being such an important part of our Rose Pioneer family!

Sincerely,

Carrie Keech

Principal, Rose Pioneer Elementary School

Halloween Costume Reminders Halloween Costume Reminders

While costumes are welcome at school on October 30, please keep the elementary dress code in mind (as outlined in the Holly Area Schools Elementary Handbook). Costumes can NOT depict violence or violent acts; this includes fake blood, gore or imagery that would not be “G” rated. Masks that can be removed and do not interfere with learning are allowed. All toy guns, knives, chains, swords & the like should be left at home. Weather permitting, we will have a costume parade outside at 3:00. The students will be exiting the building out of the bus line doors. They will walk the sidewalk in front of the building, re-entering through the upper elementary doors. Families may line up along the carline fence to cheer on the students and take photos. Please look for information from your child’s teacher about individual classroom parties and how to volunteer.

Thank you for your partnership in making this a wonderful school year!

Student Celebration: “I Got Sent to the Principal for…” Student Celebration: “I Got Sent to the Principal for…”

We’re launching our second year of celebrating students who go above and beyond with their LEAD behaviors! Teachers will be on the lookout and may “send” students to the principal for something awesome, earning an award that says, “I got sent to the Principal for…” and a quick photo (if allowed) that will be displayed in our newsletter and on a bulletin board.

Our Pioneer Parents group is a dedicated team of parents who help plan, organize, and fund many wonderful school events and projects throughout the year, including our Fun Run, Family Fun Nights, Spring Carnival, assemblies, popcorn days, and classroom enrichment opportunities. The group would love your support! Families can get involved by attending monthly meetings, volunteering for events, joining planning committees, or helping with school activities. Your time, ideas, and partnership help make Rose Pioneer a warm, supportive community for all of our students and staff. Be sure to submit a volunteer background form if you are interested in volunteering at upcoming events!
