Dear Cardinal Families,

Fall Break is here, Cardinals! We hope this week brings your family time to slow down, recharge, and enjoy a little extra time together. Whether you spend your break exploring, playing outside, visiting family, enjoying a favorite activity, or simply relaxing at home, we hope you make some wonderful memories!

A little reminder for our students: learning doesn't have to stop just because school is out! Reading a favorite book, playing a game, helping with a recipe, or exploring the world around you are all great ways to keep your minds growing.

Most importantly, give yourselves permission to rest, have fun, and enjoy the little things. We are so grateful for our Milroy families and the partnership you share with us. We look forward to welcoming our Cardinals back on Monday, November 2, refreshed and ready for another great week of learning!

Picture Retakes

Tuesday, Nov. 3rd - You must return your original picture packet the day of picture retakes if you are planning on getting your picture retaken.

Wishing you a safe, happy, and restful Fall Break!

With Cardinal Pride,

Mrs. Jennifer Myers, Principal

What to expect on picture day

  1. Any student wishing to have a retake should bring their original picture package to exchange for the retake image.
  2. When an order is placed online, the parent/guardian will receive a camera pass via email. This can either be printed or texted to the student and brought to picture day. The photographer will photograph the printed camera pass along with the student.
  3. If a student is not able to print their camera pass, that is not a problem. We will match up the student to their order manually in the production process.
  4. A parent may order from the flyer up until 24 hours after picture day. After 24 hours, the online ordering access may close. This will allow our imaging team to "Pull" all orders submitted and match them with the students photographed.
  5. When pictures are returned to school, all students that purchased pictures will receive their prepaid package. Any student that was photographed but did not order a package, will receive a "Proof" (PX) of their picture that was taken on picture day.

All proof packages offer parents a second opportunity to order prints. All orders are subject to shipping and handling costs of up to $8.50 and will be shipped directly to home.

Morning Drop-Off

  • Morning Drop Off is between 8:00 and 8:20. After this time, the gym doors will be locked and you will need to bring your child to the front office to be dropped off. Students will be counted tardy after 8:20.
  • Please make sure you child is dropped off at the sidewalk on the passenger's side of the car. If for some reason he/she needs to get out of the car on the driver's side of the car, you will need to get out and walk your child around to the sidewalk. We want our students to be safe so please follow this guideline.
  • Please make sure that you are pulled up next to the sidewalk before dropping students off. If you have not pulled up to the sidewalk yet, we ask that you wait until you can pull forward. This ensure that students are visible to school staff. Please encourage your child to walk on the inside on the sidewalk rather than the edge near the blacktop. Again, this is due to the safety of the students.

Afternoon Pick-Up

  • Car Rider pick up is at 3:00. Please have your sign with you when picking up your child. Please place your sign on the passenger side dashboard. If you need an additional sign for a family member picking up your child, please let the office know. If the driver does not have a sign, he/she will be asked to show ID to pick up your child. If another person is picking up your child, please let the front office know and we will make a note for your child.
  • Please only pull forward after all students have been loaded and a school staff gives you the go ahead to move forward.

Bus Riders Bus Riders

  • Please talk with your child about bus safety and how it is important to sit in the seat properly, keep hands and feet inside the aisle, and to follow the expectations we have in place. I've explained to all students that the bus driver's job is to get them to and from school safely. However, they need to do their job as well and follow the rules.
  • Students are to only ride the bus assigned to him/her. We are not able to allow students to "bus hop" and ride home with friends. Thank you for your help with this.
