What an exciting start to the school year! The hallways of Hanover Township Public Schools are once again filled with energy, learning, and laughter as students and staff settle into their routines. Already, we see relationships being built and connections forming that will continue to grow throughout the year.

We’ve hit the ground running with engaging lessons, spirited activities, and a shared commitment to helping every child thrive. The enthusiasm across our schools is a clear reminder of why this is such a special community.

A heartfelt thank you to our teachers and staff, administrators, families, and the Board of Education for helping us start strong.

Together, we are living our theme—“Aspire to Inspire Excellence”—and setting the stage for a fantastic year ahead.

Getting to Know You

Students completed a 'Getting to Know You' activity to help their teachers learn more about each of them. Students created self-portraits or responded to fun prompts designed to share their interests, personalities, and experiences, giving teachers a glimpse into who they are beyond the classroom. In other areas, students worked together to solve problems, focusing on their team-building skills.

Students and parents came together on the Salem Drive playground to complete our Be TRRFCC display. A wonderful reminder that good character lives at the heart of our school community, and that the Six Pillars guide all that we do. Thank you to our wonderful PTA for this display and thank you to Mrs. Layman (PTA President) for leading the way!

Welcoming the Class of 2032 to MJS!

At the end of August, MJS opened its doors to our newest students during the 6th Grade Open House. Families were welcomed with a presentation by Mr. Anderson and Mr. Ziegler before students practiced opening lockers and walked their schedules to find classrooms. The event set the stage for a smooth and confident transition into middle school.

Honoring September 11th with Patriotism and Respect

On September 11th, MJS students and staff wore red, white, and blue to honor and remember the events of that day. While none of our students were alive when the attacks occurred, this day of remembrance provided an important opportunity to reflect on history and recognize how the events of September 11th continue to shape our lives. Never forget.

The 2025-2026 school year began with a strong sense of energy and community as all teachers and staff gathered in the MJS Auditorium for our Opening Convocation. It was inspiring to come together as one district team to celebrate the start of a new year and to reflect on this year’s theme: “Aspire to Inspire Excellence.”

Following the districtwide gathering, principals led their teachers in building-based meetings filled with meaningful collaboration, planning, and preparation. This work set a positive tone and ensured our schools are ready to welcome students back to an environment where learning, growth, and excellence are at the forefront.

For the past several months, we’ve shared that a strategic planning process was on the horizon for Hanover Township Public Schools. Now, the time has come to roll up our sleeves and get started.

This fall, we will officially launch the process—working in partnership with TMI Education—to develop a five-year plan that reflects the voices, priorities, and aspirations of our school community. Together, we will dream big, build on the many successes of our district, and chart the path forward for the future of Hanover Township Public Schools.

Building Community Connections for

Middle School Mental Wellness

We invite you to watch a recording of our recent Mental Health and Wellness Symposium, focused on supporting the needs of our middle school families. This event brought together voices from across our community—including local mayors, high-ranking officials, school leaders, mental health professionals, law enforcement, and family support organizations—to share insights and practical strategies for strengthening adolescent mental health and wellness.

Together, we are working to build stronger connections between schools, families, and community partners to ensure our middle school students have the support they need to thrive.
