Samantha Thomas

Samantha is a 7th grader and was selected by Mr. Desieu Tabue. When asked about Samantha, Mr. Tabue stated, “Samantha had a rocky start in French class this year. She thought it would be a sinecure. Little did she know that she had to buckle up and embark on a challenging learning journey. With the help of parents, Samantha decided to tackle it head on! It was so satisfying to see her beaming face at the end of the last eleven questions oral exercise. That sense of pride was really inspiring to the rest of the class. It took a lot of motivation and the belief she could get it done to be the A student she is in French class right now.”

Taylor Cook

Taylor is a 7th grader and was selected by Ms. Yvonne Copeland. When asked about Taylor, Ms. Copeland stated, “My Student of the Week is Taylor Cook. Taylor has a great personality. She is a typical teenage girl who enjoys talking & laughing with friends, going to football games, and coloring her hair. She is also level headed and a good communicator. When things don't make sense to her, she will ask questions or seek a solution. I'm glad to have had the chance to get to know her this year.”

Understanding the Block Schedule Understanding the Block Schedule

What do students do on block days?

Several of you have asked about the Block Schedule Days and how they work. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we have to have block classes so that our teachers can complete comprehensive planning sessions. Therefore, kids take ACADEMIC block classes for 1 hour and 53 minutes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They take both connections classes each day for the regular amount of time. Attached are examples of what that looks like each day for each grade level. I hope this helps.
