Dear Northwood Community,

I hope everyone enjoyed the long four-day weekend and had some time to relax and recharge! We’re looking forward to a short but exciting week here at Northwood.

We’re kicking off our APEX Fun Run Fundraiser this week, leading up to the big event on Friday, October 24! Be on the lookout for information coming home about how your family can get involved. Our APEX team members will be on campus each day to bring energy, fun, and school spirit with special daily challenges for students.

Additionally, the first nine weeks came to an end on Friday. Can you believe we are already a fourth of the way through the school year? Report cards will be available in Skyward Family Access on Thursday, or sent home in your child’s backpack if you requested a paper copy.

This week our assistant principal, Ms. Young, will out. We are pleased to welcome Mr. Bill Serns, a retired school administrator to Northwood this week. He will be here to help with administrative duties this week in Ms. Young's absence. Please join me in giving him a warm Northwood welcome.

Thank you for your continued support in helping make Northwood such a wonderful place to learn and grow. Let’s make it a great week!

Warmly,
Mrs Harper

This Friday, Interstate Picture Studio will be back on campus for picture re-takes. If you bought your child's picture package and did not like how it turned out you can return it on Friday to have their picture retaken. Also, if you did not buy a package and want to or if your child was absent on picture day or not enrolled, now is your chance to purchase a picture.

School Lunch

We have a wonderful cafeteria that serves breakfast and lunch daily. This year meals are provided at no charge to ALL students as part of the Community Eligibility Program. Click THIS link to watch a short video about what is included on the school breakfast or lunch tray and what items are an extra charge.

If your child wants "extras" beyond the regular school tray, you need to add money to their cafeteria account by visiting schoolcafe.com or sending in a check or cash.

This includes on the first day of school. We understand that this may not be convenient, but it is necessary in order to ensure safety.

School Absences

Our goal is for all of our students to maintain outstanding attendance (at least 95%).

The best way to learn is by being present at school and on time, ready to learn at 7:25 am every day! If your child needs to be absent due to illness, please be sure to send a note to school the day they return explaining the reason for the absence. Absences for illness and medical appointments will be excused with a written note. A student can have no more than 18 absences in order to recieve credit for the course/grade level.
