From The Principal's Desk
Dear Highlander Families,
It is hard to believe that we have already reached the end of our first nine weeks! As I reflect on these first few months, I am incredibly proud of our students and all they have accomplished. Moving into a new grade level, adjusting to higher academic expectations, and learning new routines and procedures can be a big transition, and our students have handled it with such determination and enthusiasm.
At this time, you should be hearing from your childโs teacher regarding parent-teacher conferences. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate your childโs strengths and successes, and discuss areas for continued growth. Teachers will share academic progress and ways we can continue to work together to support your child. Please be sure to check in with your childโs teacher regarding your scheduled conference time.
And, of course, thank you, thank you, Highlander families, for another incredible APEX event! Your support and generosity continue to amaze me. Because of your involvement, we exceeded our fundraising goal! We are still waiting on the final totals and will be excited to share those with you once everything is finalized. More importantly, thank you for continuing to show our students what it means to come together as a school community and support one another.
I am so grateful for the partnership we have with our Highlander families. Your support, encouragement, and involvement make such a difference in our studentsโ experience at McAndrew. I truly feel fortunate to be part of this community and to watch our students learn, grow, and shine each day.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such an important part of our McAndrew family. I am looking forward to another wonderful nine weeks filled with learning, growth, and plenty of reasons to celebrate!
With Highlander Pride,
Vicki Kilpatrick
