Thank you to the many volunteers who helped make Field Day a wonderful day for our students. The J.O. Wilson staff worked so hard the last several weeks to ensure this day was special in our temporary swing space home. And the parents and caregivers who volunteered to support them on Friday helped make the day run smoothly.

As the school year comes to a close, we would like to remind you to pick up your child's medication from the health suite. Medications cannot be stored in the nurse’s office beyond the last day of school, Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Any medication left after this date will be safely discarded.

To make arrangements for pick-up or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nurse Toya Anderson, LPN, at 202-698-4733.Medication pick-up hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our students safe and healthy!

The PTA is collecting lightly used hand-me-down uniforms in collection boxes in front of trailer 1 at school. Please wash clothing before donating. We’ll host a uniform giveaway and new swag sale in August just before the start of the new year. If you have questions about uniforms, you can also reach out to info@jowilsonpta.org.

To meet the needs of our large school community, J.O. Wilson partners with three separate after-school providers, each serving specific grade levels. Please carefully review the breakdown below and register for the program that matches your child’s grade for the upcoming school year:

• 🌟 Polite Piggy’s: Serves PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten students.

• 📚 DCPS After-School Program: Serves students in 1st and 2nd grade.

• 🚀 Leading Edge: Serves students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.

Each program is designed to provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate experience after school.

✅ Please be sure to register for the correct program based on your child’s grade level.

This program provides daily academic support, enrichment activities, and a free snack or supper — all in a fun, safe environment from the end of the school day until 6:00 PM.

Leading Edge offers a safe, fun, and enriching environment with activities like academic support, STEM, reading, physical play, and more. Flexible scheduling, OSSE voucher acceptance, and tuition assistance are available.
