I&I Experiment / Allergies

Hello Parents of Second Grade Students!

The week of October 7th, students will be conducting a science experiment which will require students touching both store bought playdough as well as playdough created in the classroom using flour, salt, and water. If your child has an allergen to playdough products or flour, please notify Nurse Amber via email at amber.torres@pisd.edu. In your email notification, please include your child’s name, teacher, allergen concern, and if your child is able to participate and requires gloves OR if your child should NOT participate. Nurse Amber will then share this information with grade level teachers. Thank you!

P.S. We will need a parent helper to prep this project, so keep an eye out on VOLY if you are available 😄

Message from District to Parents: MAP Testing Results

Students in Grades K-8 have completed the beginning of the year MAP testing sessions. These results provide teachers with valuable information about each student’s learning progress and next steps for their instruction. Parents and guardians can expect to receive a hard copy of their child’s results; this Family Report will come home with the student. For more information about MAP testing, parents may visit the NWEA’s Family Toolkit website (available in multiple languages) or visit the links here for a brief overview of the report in English or Spanish. Reports will be sent home no later than Friday, October 4. For questions about a child’s results or progress, please contact the child’s teacher.
