School Library Programs Matter
Did you know that SPS only funds K-5 school librarians for .5 FTE unless they have an enrollment of 601+ students?
According to the American Association of School Librarians, "every learner, classroom educator, and administrator in every school building at every grade level should have access to a fully staffed school library throughout the school day."
A part-time schedule does not allow enough time for teacher-librarians to see every student each week for a lesson and a book checkout.
Please help school librarians to fully support your student's education by advocating for full time librarians in Seattle Public Schools.
