Davos 2026: UAE agrees to establish food cluster in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met with UAE Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri. The UAE minister agreed to establish a food cluster in Andhra Pradesh. He also assured that 40 companies will invest in the state. Discussions covered strengthening financial partnerships and investment opportunities. UAE companies are set to develop logistics parks and port terminals.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is on a four-day visit to Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026. The Chief Minister's schedule includes one-on-one meetings with top global executives, including Arvind Krishna, Chairman and CEO of IBM, and Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, focusing on technology, digital infrastructure and innovation-driven growth. Chandrababu Naidu said Andhra Pradesh will be developed as a hub for AI-driven creative enterprises.

Davos 2026: Karnataka industries minister Patil pitches Vijayapura for Coke plant

Karnataka has pitched Vijayapura in the Mumbai-Karnataka region for a slice of Coca-Cola’s proposed investments in India. Industries Minister MB Patil discussed the subject with Michael Goltzman, senior vice president, (global policy & sustainability) at Coca-Cola at the world economic forum in Davos. The American beverage giant has plans to invest about Rs 25,760 crore in India over the next few years, and Karnataka is pitching for a large slice of this.

Ikea expands South India footprint with online delivery in Tamil Nadu

Swedish furniture retailer Ikea announced that it will start online deliveries in the state of Tamil Nadu beginning Thursday, January 22. EV-powered doorstep deliveries will start across Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore and Salem, allowing customers to shop from over 6,400 home furnishing solutions. All orders in Tamil Nadu will be fulfilled through the company’s Bengaluru distribution network.

UAE To Partner With Telangana To Develop Bharat Future City

Minister of Economy and Tourism for the United Arab Emirates, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led 'Telangana Rising' delegation, at WEF 2026, on Tuesday. The delegation discussed potential areas of mutual cooperation in the state's large infrastructure projects, especially the Bharat Future City. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy outlined the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and the future-defining roadmap to transform the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
