👑Rise to the Crown
In Teach Like a Champion 2.0, the “100%” technique emphasizes the importance of holding every student to the same high expectations for attention and participation. The goal is simple: 100% of students are engaged, on task, and meeting the standard before moving forward.
This strategy works best when teachers:
-
Set clear expectations for behavior and responses.
-
Pause instruction until every student is with you.
-
Address non-compliance quickly and calmly.
Consistency builds a culture where students know that full engagement isn’t optional—it’s the norm. Let's continue to work on this as we establish our schoolwide classroom systems!

Tier 2
Tier 2 is dedicated time for providing targeted instruction and practice to students who need additional support to master grade-level skills. This focused block helps address specific learning gaps identified through assessment data.
Instructional Expectations
IXL
During Tier 2, we will use IXL as a key tool for skill reinforcement. Students should work on teacher-assigned skills directly tied to their areas of need, while teachers monitor progress and provide feedback to ensure growth.
Small Group
Teachers will also use this time for small-group instruction, pulling students based on assessment data to provide intensive, targeted support. This ensures every student receives the right help, at the right time, for the right skills.
IMPORTANT: If your data does not reflect at least 80% mastery of a skill, Tier 1 instruction should be reevaluated and adjusted to ensure all students have a solid foundation before moving on.
Tier 3
Tier 3 Intervention
Tier 3’s purpose is to provide the most intensive, individualized support to close gaps and ensure students can achieve grade-level success.
We will use data to determine students that need intensive, individualized support.
Students will receive 6 weeks of intensive instruction during Tier 3 and progressed monitored October 10th.
Teachers will discuss progress with parents during parent-teacher conferences on October 14th.
Students not served during Tier 3 will receive remediation during Tier 2 or guided reading groups.
Intervention teacher will be identified and will provide Tier 3 instruction. Instruction begins September 2nd.

Tier 3 Extension
- During Tier 3, students not receiving intensive intervention will engage in extension and enrichment opportunities to deepen and expand their learning.
Instructional Expectations
Learning activities are rigorous and engaging, going beyond grade-level expectations.
Students apply knowledge through critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
Tasks encourage student choice, exploration, and collaboration.
Instruction includes opportunities for project-based learning, research, or real-world applications.
Enrichment connects to core content areas while allowing for depth and complexity.
Students are challenged to their extend reasoning, not just practice.
Progress is monitored through performance tasks, discussions, or presentations, rather than simple recall.
Activities align with district/campus expectations for advanced learners and GT students.
Extension activities begin September 2nd.

Brag Boards
Brag boards are a way to acknowledge positive behaviors in the classroom or around school. It is important that we celebrate and acknowledge desired behaviors instead of focusing on unwanted behaviors. Throughout the week, focus on celebrating our students and utilizing our campus brag boards.
We did a great job of maintaining an organized and safe learning environment! Let's work to increase the "positive behavior is reinforced."
