The Sheiko Weekly Update

Hello Sheiko Families,

We have such a great week of learning! Thank you so much to everyone who attended our carnival themed dance on Friday! We had a blast!

This week's "Big Announcement" is about being recognized as a "Capturing Kids' Hearts Showcase School". In fact, all four elementary schools in West Bloomfield are!

Key Aspects of a CKH Showcase School:

Relationship-Driven: Focuses on building trust and positive relationships between staff and students.
Culture Improvement: Demonstrates a positive, safe, and emotionally supportive climate that acts as a "second home".
High Engagement: Utilizes the EXCEL model (Engage, Xplore, Communicate, Empower, Launch) to encourage self-managing classrooms and high student participation.
Rigorous Selection: Awarded based on staff survey results, campus data, and on-site observations of implemented CKH processes.

Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort. Parents, students and school staff all play important roles in this process. All of the Math Pentathlon students did an amazing job and we are proud of all of you!

On August 4, 2026, voters in Oakland County, MI, will be asked to consider a new Regional Enhancement Millage to support all public schools in the county and eligible public school academies. A regional enhancement millage is the only mechanism school districts may use to increase per-pupil funding. If the millage passes, every penny generated by this proposal would be distributed to all public school districts and eligible public school academies in Oakland County at an average rate of $781 per student.

Please be sure your student wears tennis shoes has a change of clothes and brings a water bottle.

Attention 3rd & 4th Grade Boys

IT’S NOT TOO LATE to Learn & Play Lacrosse this spring!

Looking for a fun, fast-paced sport this spring? There’s still time to join the West Bloomfield 3rd & 4th grade Boys YouthLacrosse team!

No experience needed, perfect for beginners to practice & compete in real games!

All players are welcome – great time to jump in and start learning something new and fun!

Thanks to a West Bloomfield Lacrosse 501(c)(3) equipment grant, your player’s $295 registration includes a stick, helmet, and possibly additional gear (chest pad, gloves, elbow pads, and even cleats depending on your child’s size).

Summer Camp Registration Here!

Cirque Among Us is coming to Sheiko for an all-day, school-wide experience where every student participates in hands-on circus activities like juggling, balance, and teamwork. The day ends with a live student performance!
