Over the next few weeks we will continue to review our five plays for success and excellence that we highlighted at our Back to School Night in August 🙌

Play 3- Show Strong Character

Character and Emotional Intelligence are just as important as academic achievement. Every day, strive to:

  • Be honest and trustworthy.

  • Take responsibility for your actions.

  • Treat others with kindness and respect.

  • Stand up for what is right.

  • Develop your emotional intelligence by understanding and managing your emotions while showing empathy for others.

  • Develop a growth mindset and grow your executive functioning skills.

Interim Reports for the 2nd academic quarter will be available this Friday in Jupiter Ed. Our Interim Report release is not a physical report like report cards, but rather a time in which grades for each class are up to date in Jupiter Ed, to reflect the midway point of the quarter. The end of the 2nd academic quarter will be Friday, December 18th. Report Cards for the 2nd quarter will go home on Friday, January 8th.

Spread Thanks Throughout the WAAS Community!

As we enter a season of thankfulness and gratitude, WAAS students and our school community members are encouraged to spread thanks to one another. Use the form linked below to share a heartfelt thank you to a classmate, teacher, club advisor, coach, etc. Over the next few months we will select up to three earnest "thank you's" each week to feature in the following Sunday newsletter. Those whose "thank you's" are selected will also receive a point for their Nest.

After submitting your note of gratitude please make sure that you also tell them "thank you" in person. This will mean a lot to them!

Last week students and families enjoyed many events as we closed out the month of October. We had an excellent turn out for our NCSSM informational meeting and October HOS Huddles, 7th Grade took us back into the Middle Ages at our Medieval Lives Event, students celebrated Halloween at our SLA Halloween Party, and we had an impactful Student Led Conference Day where families also got to meet Lizzie! Thank you to everyone involved for helping make all of these wonderful events happen.
