Message from Our Principal
Hello Mountain View Family,
As we approach the midway point of this nine weeks, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge our staff and student's hard work. Their commitment to learning and striving to help students reach their goals is truly commendable, and I am thrilled to see our students' progress so far.
We will send out progress reports this week. We continue to work with our students in intervention groups and small groups. Our students are completing MAP testing for grades K-5 and Circle testing for Pre-K. The data collected will give us more information to know how to support our students.
Our counseling department is sending out a survey for parents to complete. Please take a moment to complete the survey so to help our counseling department know what our students and families need. The QR code can be found below.
Thank you for supporting Mountain View. If you have any questions or need any support, please do not hesitate to reach out. Let's continue to work together!
Best regards,
LaBecca Thompson
Principal, Mountain View ES
Introducing KISD District Councils
Last year Dr. Craft introduced the PULSE council. This year we will not have a Campus or District PULSE council. Instead our new superintendent, Dr. Fey is introducing KISD District Councils. She places great importance on the input of our community partners and parents when making significant decisions within our district. If you are interested in contributing and serving on one of our NEW District Advisory Councils, please take a moment to watch the video below.
The online application will open on September 5, 2023, and close on September 15, 2023.
- The website will be live by Wednesday: www.killeenisd.org/councils
Impact Aid
The impact aid survey date for this school year will be Friday, September 8. The technology services team will be sending out the electronic impact aid survey for all students on this date. Questions can be directed to impactaid@killeenisd.org or x 0157
Mountain View Drop Off and Pick up Procedures
Please open the attachment below for procedures. Also a few reminders:
- The front parking lot will be closed off at 7:00 AM and again at 2:45 to keep our students safe.
- When dropping off at valet in the mornings do not change lanes before dropping off your child.
- Please do not stop on Iowa Dr. to drop students off. You can continue around the school to valet in the back of the school or park in the parking lots and walk your child to the front of the building.
- Be careful when turning into the school in the mornings. It is dark and students may be crossing.
