Kindergarten Family Fun Night!

We had twelve students and thirteen adults attend our Kindergarten Family Fun Night! The kindergarten teachers shared with families what phonemic awareness is and gave them packets of information on how to hep their students at home. Students participated in several activities including a letter names and sounds game, a graphing activity with fruit snacks, and a directed drawing. We finished the night with sorbet floats!

It's all blue skies in Blue Rapids

It was a fabulous week at Blue Rapids elementary. We had some special guests in the building this past week. On Wednesday the Jr./Sr. High school students came to the building and did some special activities with the BR students. What a fun time to connect with the secondary students. On Thursday the Marshall County Sheriff's office came out and did a Red Ribbon presentation for the students and even gave each student a Red Ribbon T-Shirt. We want to say thank you to our amazing law enforcement community in Marshall County for all you do!! Looking forward to this coming week, on the 31st of October at 2:15 pm, we will have our annual Halloween parade around the town circle/square. Parents and family members if you would like to view your child's costume we encourage you to come to the circle/square for the Halloween parade!! There will be no Colts Round Up on Halloween.

I thank you all for the privilege of working with your children! If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call the office at 785-363-7693 or email me at tstaples@valleyheights.org.

We’d like to remind families to discuss a safe route to school with your students. Whether it is on foot, bike, or a car we want everyone to arrive to and from school safely! For students on foot and bike remember that the safest crossings are at Chestnut & Highway 77 in Blue Rapids and Minnesota & Highway 77 in Waterville.

These crossings are monitored both before and after school.
