From the Desk of Mr. E
Dear Jefferson Families and Friends!
Can you believe that there are only 9 days left for your students? This year has been eventful, fun, and fast! It was nice having three family nights; 2 Bingo 4 Books and 1 EL Family Night. It was great to have the volunteers back into our schools to help students. We look forward to bringing back some other traditions next year like the Veteran’s Dinner.
Overall, it was a great year. We saw a lot of growth in many of our students from Fall to Spring. We saw some students improve in other ways that really made us smile. This school means a lot to a lot of people including our staff, but especially your kids. Every one of them is important to us and my mission as principal is to make sure there is mutual respect between your family and my staff, your students and my staff, and your family and myself. It is my pleasure to serve Jefferson Elementary. I look forward to the next few years here at Jefferson Elementary.
With that, there will be some things that look a little different next year. We will be saying goodbye to some of our friends and families as they leave us for other schools, positions, or communities. We will be welcoming some new faces next year and it will be great!
Staff that are leaving include: Ms. Chevalier, First Grade-retiring; Ms. Harmon, First Grade-teaching position where she lives; Ms. Radke, Music - teaching position in Bellevue Public Schools; Ms. Adams, SPED-. transferring to Lincoln Elementary; Mrs. Johnson, Speech Path-undecided; Mrs. Townsend, School Psych.-working for the ESU; Ms. Chris, Para, retiring; Mr. Zach, Para, student teaching/teaching in another building.
New staff: Mrs. Jamie Hart, SPED from South Dakota; Mrs. Emily Snyder, 1st Grade from Scottsbluff; Kallie Bush, Music from Arnold; we will also be replacing Mrs. Townsend, School Psychologist and Mrs. Nicky Dorsey Head Librarian. Both will be housed here at Jefferson, tentatively.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
NED's Mindset Mission is a character education program that centers around three important messages that have lifelong relevance: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. During the assembly, students will learn about the importance of these three life skills while also enjoying storytelling, magic, humor and yo-yo tricks. We recommend linking the underlined text (shown above) to our website,
http://www.mindsetmission.com/assembly.html
Yo-Yo sales will take place from May 9th to May 13th.
