Not only did they make history by participating in this groundbreaking event, but they also earned a Division 1 rating, receiving straight 1s from all four judges—an incredible achievement!

This contest serves as a pilot program that will eventually be adopted by UIL, turning drill team dance into an official UIL event. Our Varsity Majestics, already state champions with numerous awards, embraced this new adventure with excitement and energy!

AHS Families: Financial Aid Information Night - Nov. 13 AHS Families: Financial Aid Information Night - Nov. 13

Please join us on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. in the AHS Lecture Hall to learn about all things financial aid for college! The FAFSA changed quite a bit last year, and Dec. 1 is the projected opening day for the FAFSA this year. UNT does a great job of talking about financial aid in general (not specific to UNT) and is helpful information to hear prior to Dec. 1.

We encourage students and families to go ahead and create their FSA IDs now because those can take 3-5 days to get approved. Click here to start that process! If you start this process prior to the FAFSA opening, both of your accounts will be ready to go and you will be able to get started without having to wait!

Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

AP School Honor Roll announced that 5,061 schools—which represent 32% of eligible high schools—are being recognized on the 2024 AP School Honor Roll. Of these schools, 1,962 also received the AP Access Award, demonstrating a clear and effective commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework.

The recipients represent a broad range of high schools from across the United States (including U.S. territories) and Canada. They include private, public, and charter schools; large and small student bodies; rural and urban populations; and specialized high schools, along with generalized programs.
