Note from the Principals
We are excited to see you soon for our Community Tour and Parent Conferences. You can find additional information about both events below.
Community Tour
The Hockinson School District is extending an invitation to our community to take a look inside its schools as part of its "2026 Tour of Schools" on Wednesday, October 21.
Participants will not only get better acquainted with each school’s campus, they will also meet members of the HSD School Board and Superintendent. Food samples will also be provided by our Nutrition Services Team…and this year every HSD “school tourist” will receive a Strong Foundations, Soaring Futures t-shirt!
We would love to have you join us on this year’s tour. Click here to register and preview the tour itinerary.
Parent-Teacher Conference Week: October 26-30
Fall Parent Teacher Conferences will be held October 26-30. During conference week, students will be on a 3-hour early release schedule with school dismissed at 11:15 a.m. daily. Students will have a lunch break during the day. If you need a reminder about your scheduled conference time, or if you need to reschedule, please give us a call at 360-448-6430. We'd be happy to help. Conference week is also a school spirit week - see the flyer below for additional details on each spirit day.

Supporting Positive Behavior at HHES
Next Wednesday is Unity Day at Hockinson Heights Elementary! Unity Day marks the end of our Kindness Campaign. Over the last six week, students have been practicing showing kindness to themselves, their peers, their school, and their community. While we will continue to focus on kindness throughout the year, we are excited to celebrate this special day and to recognize the hard work of our students in demonstrating kind behaviors.
On Unity Day, we encourage all students to wear ORANGE for kindness. We will have students from HHS and staff members at our school entrances to greet students as they arrive. We will be handing out special kindness themed stickers to all students. Special events will take place throughout the day to celebrate our kind students.
We encourage you to speak with your student about their learning and to cheer them on as they continue to demonstrate RSR behavior at school.

Halloween at HHES
School appropriate costumes may be worn on October 30 to celebrate Halloween. To make the school day productive and safe for all, please ensure that your child’s costume meets the following guidelines:
Costumes, including all makeup and accessories, need to be put on at home. Students will be wearing their costumes all day.
Weapons or weapon-like accessories are not permitted at school.
Students are not permitted to wear masks or to cover their face during the school day.
All costumes should comply with the school dress code.
