Message from the Principal
Thank you to everyone who helped to get your Valentine's together and/or helped to support the in-class celebrations last week. Our staff was also spoiled with a coffee treat/cart provided by our PTA! (THANK YOU!) It was a great day at Kiker! As we head into the third week of February, our campus is buzzing with great things!
We are excited to showcase our talented 5th graders at their Music Performance this Thursday at 6PM. Our students have been working hard, and we can’t wait for families to see their growth, confidence, and joy on stage. Thank you for supporting the arts and celebrating their efforts with us.
Our Student Council Canned Food Drive is also underway! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to practice leadership and service while supporting families in our community. Every donation makes a difference, and we appreciate your generosity.
This week we also celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Week. It’s the perfect time for all of us to pause and think about how small actions can make a big impact. A kind word, a helping hand, or a moment of patience can truly brighten someone’s day.
🟡Lost & Found Alert! Our collection is…thriving. Jackets, water bottles, lunch boxes, and a surprising number of lonely hoodies are waiting for their owners. Please take a moment to look through and reunite anything that belongs at home.
It’s a great week to be part of our school community!
Warmly,
Ms. Abrams

Celebrating Black History Month
"Join Austin ISD in celebrating Black History Month! Every February, to honor the multifaceted experiences our Black students, staff and families Austin ISD celebrates Black History Month, a time to highlight the district's commitment to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
Black History Month provides an opportunity for deeper exploration of Black and African-American history than what is taught throughout the year. Honoring, recognizing and educating ourselves about these histories is important because they represent our collective American history. Each campus receives resources, and campuses are encouraged to collaborate with students and staff to design Black History Month activities that engage, educate and inspire."
